cash payout from the insurance company?
what is your deductable?
Meloche monnex is an excellent insurance company. i used them for 25 years.

they also keep 20% in the case of cash payout.

i would just let them fix the truck.

First I'd decide if you want to replace the stock bumper with an aftermarket one or not.

If you want a stock one, go to panel shop with her, get it repaired, she'll pay the $500 to avoid paying her excess and her insurance premium going up etc. Especially if she's got a newer car. If you want to do a MUD deal then ONCE SHE'S LEFT THE SHOP, talk to the panel shop about sourcing the parts yourself. I used to drive tow trucks and if the panel shops in Canada are anything like the panel shops down here then they'll do anything for a deal.

If you want to replace it with an aftermarket one then get a quote from a panel shop, show it to her and tell her you want to replace it with something stronger and safer. She'll empathise with you, probably pay the $500 for the same reasons as above. You just have to type her up a receipt and everyone walks away smiling.

That's how I would play it down here in Oz. If she's being a knob then I'd be even nicer. That doesn't mean give in to her, just be nice to her but stick to your guns, back yourself. You may get the aftermarket bumper, you may not. You've been wheeling this long without it.

You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. :)

I got another call just from the body shop.
They are estimating $787.00 to remove , straighten, rechrome and reinstall. IT is BOYD auto Body.
Wayne:
I have Zero deductible. And i have already opened a claim with my Insurance company and according to my adjuster, the other party insurance will cover the bill as apparently they were at fault.
Should i just call my adjuster and ask her about paying it out in cash? What should i expect to hear.

And there is a Police Report that both parties filed afterwards.

Thanks.
