Great video!! I got calipers and pads for a 94' 4runner to swap out instead of rebuilding because of time.

Has anyone purchased front slotted rotors that would fit a 94' 78 series and are quality? I keep finding different options, but keep seeing mixed reivews on rotors.

Found the perfect tool combo for separating a 30 year old, rust welded hub and rotor - ball joint / pickle fork slips right between the bold housing. Tap tap taparoo.

How did you get the studs out prior to using the fork to separate the rotor from the hub? I don't want to smash the head with a hammer because it will damage the threads.....

Or T100 V6 calipers (but you probably will have to trim the splash shield to make room for the slightly larger calipers
By "splash shield" you mean with this picture correct and just trimming off a little? I got calipers for a 94' 4runner and the bottom bolt hole will not line up because it is hitting the knuckle arm or at least resting on it. I didn't know if I needed to grind down the knuckle arm or housing of the new caliper to make it fit....

Are you talking about trimming the bottom of this? I got calipers from a 94 four Runner and they look almost identical except a little bit larger on the bottom portion, which is rubbing against my knuckle arm. I wonder if I need to trim the new caliper housing or grind the knuckle arm, a little bit to allow it to fit? You can see in the photo that right behind the splash shield. There’s a little rubbing on the knuckle arm and that’s where the caliper is hitting.

Sorry late here, betting you got it figured, but I used a sacrificial lug nut - treaded on to protect the treads, put the rotor up on a few 4x4s and gave it some good solid 'taps' with flat end of large ball peen; a little p-oil wouldn't hurt first to loosen up. Don't be shy, they'll give eventually. Unthread and repeat. Lug pretty much toast but was replace them all anyway. In hindsight would have replaced the studs, but was careful enough no need.

No worries.....I ended up using a 1" piece of scrap bar to knock them all out with a mini sledge after putting some p-oil on them. Came right out and used the same thing to knock them back in. Upgraded rotors and 94' 4 runner calipers work great and really happy with the stopping now.
