thanx Dre, for posting that absolutely beautiful pic of Russell Armstrong's rig.

It's been a while since I've looked at or responded to ANY of these forum boards... and why? Cuz everyone always has something to bitch about:crybaby: The one thing I know , at least in my mind, is this sport has evolved from just off-roading to hardcore rockcrawlin' (in some peoples view). Many people to choose to build their rigs for recreational use and some choose to hammer the hell outta their rigs... my point, CHOICE. I read on here that TT is a "family oriented" magazine that should not allow this kind of "content" Well let me give you my perspective. I mean NO disrespect to any of the members who contribute to TT, but the magazine is boring. I haven't read an issue for a very long time, and the reason is that none of the content interests me. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE the landcruiser community, and always look forward to meetin' up and wheelin' with everyone, no matter the how hard or easy the terrain may be. But what this boils down to is who do you want looking at TT? I cannot speak for anyone else, nor am I speaking on behalf of Proffitt's Cruisers, just myself. But if you want to keep the interest of the up and coming wheelers, or the people that thrive on hardcore, full throttle wheelin', TT just doesn't have that click. Once again, NO disrespect intended, just my opinion, which I'm sure any publisher would want to hear... feedback. Let me ask some of you, who is gonna be in charge of this publication 10, 20 ,30 yrs down the line? Maybe you should take that into consideration now. PLUS......... doesn't Proffitt's ad = revenue for TT? I personally contributed alot of time and thought into this calendar we're about to release, and one of the main topics is to NOT make it sleazy. The women simply enhance the craftsmenship of Proffitt's work, so I'm sure there are gonna be some who don't like it, BUT think of the many that do.

Best reguards to everyone,

Barry

tlca is a family oriented asssociation...do you really think 10 year olds should be looking at (for lack of what i want to say) half naked women? how about all the women in tlca? there are even men that don't appreciate it. i'm sick of it. i get bombarded on every forum out there with that crap. you can't even start a thread here without some dweeb bringing it up . tt is a nice breath of fresh air for me. how would you feel if all the ads had hot mostly naked men? and as tt gets older, i see more and more women and children being involved.
i love jeremiah, he's a great guy, but i can't see his work cause there's a ... blocking my view.

wow...

I'm still trying to figure out how TLCA has been branded a "family oriented" organization. I certainly feel left out being that I don't have a family. I don't understand how you can be so hypocritical about the "family" when I have heard the most vulgor things come out of your mouth at the CM raffle that even someone my age would not even want to hear... I personally think kids should not be exposed to such alcoholism, but they are. Should we ban things like this??... NO! PLUS, what kid hasn't been exposed to everything today................... TV, newspaper/mag ads, billboards, video games, etc... MUCH worse than a woman in a bikini, NO thongs or exposed "parts", and only being ran for a couple ads towards the end of the year to promote a calendar, not the business. We need to keep thinking of the freedom of advertising and the financial aspect of running a magazine... TT needs revenue and Proffitt's Cruisers wants to help out in any way, AND Chris knows whats tasteful and whats not. TT is not being bombarded with these kind of ads. I would like TT to be around for some time, I don't read it, but I enjoy seeing any biz/publication prosper, and how do they do that??? REVENUE

B.........

***** The views and expressions of myself DO NOT reflect the views of Proffitt's Cruisers (it's a personal thing)

OK. if it gets to a fight, I got Iggy in the 2nd round by knockout.........:D

Any takers????

Barry, I have been running a column for over 2 years now that is for just that sort of reader. Step in and check out the new Toyota Trails. You say you have not looked at it in a long while, well, you should.

most vulgar, no, but i do use standard curse words too often, i'm working on that. i also don't have a family, but does that mean that i should be bombarded by this. i don't think so. you say kids see this stuff everywhere, so why do we need it in tt also? i'm just saying that i see nothing "ballsy" about publishing ..... in ads and that it does affect my purchasing and i'm sure it affects others also.

sorry butch, no fight, i'm a lover ;)

Truthfully: I think it's worth a shot.

It kills me to hear half a dozen or so people just piss and moan about something like this. How many hundreds see it, accept it and move on? But to piss and moan is childish. Business doesn't give two @&@&@&@&s about feelings. TLCA is business first. [or IMO, should be]

Guess what business-minds of TT~ Any exposure is good exposure. If people talk about TT and the calendar and 6 women complain, 60 men might join. Who cares what gender!!! Money is money!!!

You want numbers and members, it's time to stop trying to cater to EVERYONE and go with it.

To say TT is family oriented is just about the most ridiculously hopeless business statement I have ever heard. You show me how many families sit on the @&@&@&@&ter reading TT and you'll have your family orientation.

99% of these trucks are built by MEN. Men like to look at women. It's not offensive, it's not bad for business and it sure as hell has just as much of a place as anything else.

Catering to "family orientation" will leave you chasing your tails. Broadening the marketing demographic can't hurt.

:bounce2:

I am with Ige on this one: at least be BALANCED and INCLUSIVE - and for that, it would need half-naked men stretching in suggestive poses..........

I am surprised none of our fellow MUDDERS is stepping forward...........nobody good looking, suntanned and ready? :flipoff2:

Personally, I don't buy from CCOT, and I have no need for Skyjacker's religious pamphlets. And I couldn't care less about SORs dog......... Nobody ever said advertising is about good taste, but it makes me more sympathetic if it has class.

Ladies,

This is the closest I can get to half naked men stretched over a cruiser. Make it last, because it may be all you get! ;p ;p ;p :D
should probably post some sort of disclaimer after the bill incident :flipoff2:

do not attempt this at home.
