Good question? I'm about to order the gauge and adapter tonight but don't want it if it's going to blink all the time. If its a one time thing I'm cool with that.

I was looking at the C gauge and not the F , the op said in a pm that it does not blink as long as you order the F  I ordered my stuff from eBay and not amazon.

I received my adaptor and gauge last week. I also picked up the tap a fuse soi am ready to go, as soon as I get around to installing. Hopefully this week.

I have the all the pieces sitting here. F* gauge, glowshift adapter and sensor.....

time... I need some time.

I look forward to this mod.

So is the 38mm adapter good? Or 40mm would be better on a 1fze

i got the 40mm ordered. pics to follow in the next 2 weeks

I believe 40mm is slightly larger than ID of the upper hose, but it should stretch over it just fine. I ordered 38mm for mine but ended up just tapping into hard pipe instead. I'm really glad so many guys are finding this thread helpful. Hope everyone is enjoying there thermometer.

Had a little extra time today to install... well mostly.

I bought the glowshift 38mm adapter. While it slips on, I think the 40mm would be a more snug fit with little more ease of mind.

The clamps that came with the glowshift 38mm adapter were to small, I had to run to napa and source some larger ones. While I think I ok, no drips or issues could be a little more snug for my liking.

On the same page but different product the Koso slim I ordered did not mention it came with the sensor to screw into the glowshift adapter. The one it came with worked perfect. The one I ordered thinking it was not included was the wrong size. Live and learn.

Did a quick hotwire pre-test and looks like this will all work out just fine.

Just my  ability, experience and notes.

Look forward to seeing some real number while on the road/trail.

I finally finished my punch list for this week. Installed the koso and I love it. It feels really good to see real time #'s

Thanks half k for starting this thread and to you and retro for answering my questions. I will send you guys a pm with what I found. I am too embarrassed to say in public. :bang:

Thats a nice mod and one I need to do fast. I am wondering though if it might be possible to fit the Koso gauge behind a switch blank somehow with some modification to hold it in place, etc.?

Just for clarification, if you order this gauge it will come with the gauge, about 6' of wire and a 1/8th NPT threaded sensor.

So for $44 you get the sender and the gauge (it doesn't say on amazon)

Yes, mine came with the gauge, enough wire for an 80 with some to spare (I put the gauge in the same location as the last pic), and the threaded sensor that fits right in the glowshift adapter.

mine are about a week out. i got em direct from china for 58$ for the gauge and adapter.

Super easy install thanks to the write up! One of the best mods under 100$ for sure!!!!
Here's mine on warm up.

I love mine also. This is a great mod for us non obdII LC owners. It is very nice to be able to look at real time #'s

I would like to do this for the oil pressure also but not sure where to install the sensor.

I like it, but I wonder if it's too bright when driving at night?

Hasn't bothered me yet. However, if you are worried about the brightness you should be able to wire it through the dimmer switch in order to give you some control of the output.

Like mentioned the 2sided tape that comes with it sucks. Every morning I have to re-stick. Need to run down and get some better stickyness.
