Can’t seem to find these springs anymore. Are there newer better replacements?

Are they only for the rear? Wouldn’t I need front springs too?

There are no front springs. Hydraulics on all four corners, torsion bars on the front, and springs in the rear.

First post in this thread will give you some insight into how the torsion bars work.

Check out the pics you took when you did the brakes, 2nd picture of your thread. No springs on the front.

Just had the the guys at Yotamasters install these while getting front diff and rear control arm done. I had new globes put in last year as well. Main reason I had these kings swapped in was that the old springs were 20yrs old and pretty tired. I'd load up the rig with few hundred pounds of concrete making a run to home Depot and she would sit long Low. These should do the trick to give her a bit more load capacity. I have not found any significant difference in ride quality across any settings.

Hope this helps add to anyone doing research.

Cheers and stay safe!

Just installed these today. F/R pressures were 7.0/6.7 with no gear in the back, full tank of gas. After the swap, pressures 7.0/4.5. No noticable change in ride quality.

After replacing the 140lbs of gear that I keep in the car at all times (tools, recovery gear, etc), the rear pressure increased to 5.3. Rear was 7.7 with the gear and old coils.

This should hopefully prevent the AHC from defaulting to L/unable to get into H. Both of which happened when out on trails with the truck loaded with gear. Not fun.

It’s good that you have installed beefer springs to counteract the weight that you are carrying.
However you should now adjust the rear pressures so you get the same quality dampening.
Staying with below normal pressure doesn’t give you the best ride possible.

Just had the folks over at SD Trux drop in the King Springs and I am quite happy with the results. Even with just the weight of the rear bumper and the ~30 lbs of gear I keep stashed in the back, the ride quality was remarkably good. Next time I head to the hills, I’ll verify the fully loaded, off-road performance but based on what’s been posted already, I think the KTRS-79 are a huge win for the otherwise stock AHC setup on my LX.

What are your F/R AHC pressures after your bumpers/King spring install? Are you at factory heights? It looks like your running a steel rear, not sure of the front.

Steel rear, steel front with 12.5k winch, aluminum for the full skid plates. Factory heights.

Never checked pressure during different configs but while the truck felt balanced with all the extra weight, the spring rate always seemed a little soft even when set towards SPORT.

Also, when loaded up and off the road, there have been times where I could either not push the AHC height up to HI (just flashed then stayed on normal) or the truck indicated LOW uncommanded on more aggressive terrain while not dropping to low entirely. It would reset to normal as the terrain calmed down a bit.

It now feels significantly more confident / firm on COMFORT but still has far from a harsh spring rate hitting bumps. My hunch is the seat of my pants mirrors the data points reported above and it’s a predictable change to the stock setup when you are running a higher static weight configuration.

Hope that helps somewhat.
