Well thanks to all you fine gentlemen (mud influencers?), I drank the kool-aid and ordered one of these bad boys this morning before the sale ended.

"Impressed with this thing", "well worth it", "changed my life", "would sell a kidney for this thing" they all said...

Not sure why they'd do a group buy when all the suckers (me) keep placing stand-alone orders.

If it makes you feel any better, I bought one and don’t even have my LC yet so whose the bigger sucker.

This is top tier platform enthusiasm right here! A better question is what else have you been stock piling ahead of your LC delivery?

I’ll fess up to having MAXpider floor mats, the jowett filter stuff, the recirculate door warning sticker, a bunch new factor 55 recovery gear, and I’m building out a tool kit. There’s some bells and whistles that are being put on as well but since those aren’t sitting in my basement I can’t confess for them.

One thing to consider, and it may not be an issue for most, but if you sleep in your truck on top of cargo boxes/2nd row, there isn’t a ton of room to begin with. I think this shelf would make it very uncomfortable. I slept in mine for two nights this weekend, and I wouldn’t have wanted any less room.

Less of an issue than you might think. For me it simply meant sleeping with my head forward instead of rearward. The front 'wall' of the shelf actually makes for a good mounting spot for all kinds of stuff I like to have handy while sleeping. Is it tighter overall? Sure but only from the waist down, which is usually plenty limited by my sleeping bag anyway.

I’ve got the Maxpider and Jowett as well. Kaon in transit. 😂

Ask @JohnJB about how it works to sleep on a drawer with Kaon shelf. I went out to my 200 one morning to go run some trails and found him sleeping back there! Thought about taking off without waking him up actually.

Hahahaha 🤣 yeah, I’m almost as excited for the LC to get here as I was first my first child.

Hey, if I can fit at 6’3” 260#, any o yall can... ;) It was FREEZING the second night on the San Rafael Swell at Cruise Moab this year…so I parked far from camp under a tree near a and ran the engine all night. Toasty warm and happy…ready for trail bright and early with snow falling… :steer:

This was my experience as well. On my truck with a TrekBoxx I slept with my head at the tailgate, but with this roof shelf in @mcgaskins truck I slept with my feet at the tailgate. Other than squishing the folded 2nd row as you get situated with more weight, it worked well. You're not necessarily going to want to hang out in the truck and play cards or drink a beer with someone else but for the purpose of sleeping space, it more than adequately works.

Matt's truck is also currently setup with just 1 ARB drawer and no wing, I thought this might feel precarious but with a nice sleeping pad, all was good for my 6' length and 32" waist size.

Shelf installed this morning. Ordered 6/4, received 6/11.

What fridge is that? I’m flirting with a future fridge and I will have the Kaon shelf and tall ARB drawers and I’m wondering if I should go with the lower drawer and if it’s worth the hassle. The fridge would only go in for certain trips and the drawer space is important to our use.

The fridge is a SnoMaster EX75...it lives in my LC 24/7. It's mounted on an ARB Roller Floor (which has a shallow drawer as well). For me was an accessibility requirement. Due to the height of this fridge model, I had to mount it such that it extends beyond the front of the Roller Floor by about 1.5". Otherwise, the door would hit the interior roof trim making it extremely difficult to access.

Another great product by Kaon, their recovery points, I just fitted these to my 200 today they are 20mm thick billet steel CNC machined, soft shackle friendly, with large opening, rounded edges and Cerakote finish. A bit pricey but very nice

Thought I'd join the club. Very sturdy and practical. Thanks @BIC JET for the quick and easy local sale!

As you can see, it works fine with the third row still in place (it even helps to have the folded 3rd row seats up to rest the shelf on for a solo install). Headroom for the third row is fine for anyone 5'6" or under I'd say. Visibility is great from the drivers seat, next to none of the rear glass is blocked in the rearview.

Would be cool if KAON made a window molle panel to pair with the shelf:

That thing looks awesome! Just too sad I couldn't use it. Trekboxx will be cool though. Looking forward to getting it!

This shelf looks very useful, I just had one in my shopping cart.

A concern that came to mind, was operation the side curtain airbags. I roll with kids in the back seat.

Would this shelf stop the side curtain airbags from dropping down correctly? Thanks!
Most kids have pretty hard heads....

If anyone is looking for a magnetically attached LED light to hang off the bottom of the Kaon shelf, I purchased one of these from Amazon:

Amazon product ASIN B08XQ75CY1
The magnets are very strong, it provides quite a bit of light, and the adjustable angle is useful. I considered a number of less expensive options designed to use in closets, but felt this one would hold up better long term. It can also be easily moved to another location if needed. When mounted off to one side in a front to back orientation, it doesn't block view through the rear view mirror. I'll try to remember to post a picture at some point.

Very nice! What color is your LC and how did you decide between the 2 colors? Just wanted the more subtle look of the grey?

My cruiser is silver, everyone here in Australia has loud red and some yellow recovery points just wanted to be a bit more subtle with the simple design and matching colour
