Is there an opening for Casner? If so, I would like to join. I'm already up at camp.

Amazing weekend everyone! I'm missing a brand new tent pole piece, so please let me know if you end up finding it when you unpack. It looks like this:

It's about 2.5 feet long.

The rest of my pics:

Great trip and awesome food. The folks with the Forrest service were very happy and appreciative of our willingness to stop and ask, explain the rules regarding the fire restrictions. We gained approval from Kate while headed in and she explained that the concern for vegetation was anything over a foot tall that might hit a catalytic converter and start a fire. We were visited Saturday afternoon by another ranger who had just ticketed another group down the road for having a camp fire. Again we followed everything by the FS rules and had a great weekend.

Thanks to @Living in the Past for raising the awareness and helping CSC conduct ourselves in accordance with the law.

Post up pictures if you have them. First time camper.

Yes excellent time. Area we camped at was darn near perfect with a million dollar view. Great folks and both Darlene and I had an excellent time. Would have more pics but phone was almost dead and cigarette lighter on 40 was not working-will fix this before next outing.

@Fishbone60 Steve was a pleasure meeting you and what a cool 60 you have! Next time I have to take the 40 up there.

Glad it all worked out and your visit by forest rangers were those who used common sense and no go just strictly by restrictions but rather the intent. Guessing your forest rangers were not official LEO? Talked to a few forest rangers in the Happy Jack area who are the same why. It's the one LEO in the area that scares me. Can you say Barney Fife? Wonder if a letter campaign could get 9011R officially on the travel to make it legal no matter what forest ranger would come by. I'm the Sierra Club would love to have people hike from Flagstaff to that area. That way when some backpackers have a legal campfire they leave unattended and starts a forest fire it will be that much harder to fight. Just like the Schultz fire a few years ago.

Need more information for those of us not able to make it this weekend.
a pretty simple heater hose loose clamp issue. Steve O fixed, filled with water, and resumed travel - I like it when its an easy fix!

some pics I took - wow 19 or 20 trucks total. Good group, huge cookout, good weather - classic CSC ROTM!

chris using his VR drone - hopefully got footage of the campsite from above? a variety of camping set ups: Roof top tents, ground tents, trailer tents, in car platforms, tentcot, hammock, and a air filled balloon chair - lol!

The cookout was a great success, no one left hungry. Thanks to Abigail for working so hard on making the cookout happen~ the dogs kept busy looking for the occasional dropped piece of food :cookie:

Eric (pitch) hoisting his beer high in pic #2 ~

Everyone was full and satisfied

The ranger that arrived on Saturday was the LEO, sirens and ticket book included. Very nice and games us the full rundown on the truck she was driving, ran the red and blue flashing lights and demonstrated the sirens. In all it was a great experience with the forest service and we happily complied with the restrictions and had a great camp out.

Very personable LEO that enjoyed showing us her truck and its many features. She had come over to AZ from CA and said she was surprised how clean our forests were compared to the ones in CA. said she was impressed...

but comparing to CA with the population overload....:meh:

Thanks for the pics. It was nice to see all the different camp set ups. The air filled balloon chair was especially enjoyable.
