FWIW, I installed one of those tanks into my 60, about 15 years ago, and found the sender location did not line up with the access door. Don't know (and can't imagine why) the Aus RHD models would be different. Had to fab an access panel, too.

And this was of course after finding a bad weld in one of the vent tubes that allowed gas to weep out (only when full of 40 gallons!) so I had to drain and drop the tank again and take back to MAF for a pressure-tested unit that I insisted upon.

I certainly did my share of ranting and cussing, too, at these issues, so I can sympathize with the Wizard.

Seems LRA hasn't paid much attention to the USA market issues since then.

Once all those issues were overcome, as well as the tank mounting tabs not lining up with the holes on the chassis, the tank has been trouble-free and great way not to carry Jerry cans... (but fooking expensive to fill up!!! 😁 )

Beautiful work, again, and really makes for some delightful reading while sitting here sucking on black coffee.

I took one look at this truck this morning and decided to take a little road trip in my own 60 for a Phat burger before getting started

I got back and added the new AGM Series 27 battery and all the wiring back on that was here before and laid out my routing for the next round of wires.

Next I found some real estate for this Hyperspark stuff.

I briefly entertained self tapping screws into the firewall then caught myself and broke out the rivnuts. Pretty good location I think.

I pulled all the heat shields and had them powdered. I’ve scrubbed the inside of this thing inside the frame rails and applied a nice thin coat of Fluid Film. I personally like the look of clean OEM original steel with a little FF on it. Paint looks like you are hiding something. This is the most rust free 60 I’ve ever worked on.
