Looks great! Who made those rear panels and did you have the coated/painted? Thanks a bunch and your work is awesome.

They are made by @TRAIL TAILOR

I had them paint matched to SEM Cordovan Brown. They are pretty close. Will look good with the new carpet.

Always start at the rear on these carpet kits.

It gives you a false sense that it’s an easy job

I’ve had luck painting stuff like that with VHT “Wrinkle Plus” following the instructions to a T except hit it with a heat gun instead of putting in oven. Get some luscious wrinkles that way.

Once that’s good and cured paint with color of your choice. Looks great. Super durable.

I took a couple of days off of this thing. Monday I took the front seats to the upholstery guy. This guy is supposed to be quick and it’s just a cover install. More on that later.

Yesterday they poured 2200’ of concrete on the shop extension so I took the day off and watched.

Today I got started a little late and spent the afternoon installing the fuel lines and then making sense out of all this Hyperspark wiring.

I got it I think. I still have a few wires to loom and hook up.

@ToyotaMatt has come up with a great solution for people using early air cleaners or, in my case, a Holley carb hat to 80 series air cleaner.

This is a 2 piece hose kit with a copper flange. You cut it to length and add a little FIPG to the union

Thanks Matt

@JTU came for an inspection today. I think he’s happy. He had some suggestions for final punch out so I added them to the list.

After he left I went and got 10 gallons of gas and monkeyed with the distributor a bit and fired it up.

I did the cam break in on the Cop motor. Holy hell that was hot. We are getting murdered with crazy humidity this week.

I’m still waiting on seats to get this thing on the road so in the mean time I’m working through the punch list JTU and I made on Saturday.

One thing I forgot was that he had a wiper linkage. It was under the skid plate. When I installed it there this evil creature lay.

There is not much tech to replacing these things. Lots of cussing but not much tech.

This is what goes bad. The bushing on the motor arm.

It’s been about 5 years since I did this job on my own 60. Maybe it will be that much longer before I have to do another.
