I use a grade 8 hex head from Lowes. Drilling is hard. Plan on going slow and keeping the bit lubricated. Those springs are legit.

I thought Chris gave you Pig rears?

I already had the FJ-60 springs, bushings, etc before the Pig was acquired. These are a touch longer and pretty flat; I think I'll be happy with them.

One of the two 6529 boxes I ordered (last 2 I could find) is a 4.25 box...winning.

I am a little confused. So when you order the 6529 you don't know if your getting a 4.25 or 3.25?

Leaf springs disassembled, clamps hammered straight, military leaves flipped (need to be drilled)...ready for wire wheel and a little paint.

Yep. My second one was a 4.25 and I felt lucky.

That's a heavy setup. I collapsed an engine hoist once with the same deal. Jacked it up too high. Was a disaster.

Afterwards we did some Georgling, and then this happened:

Few hours later the frame rails were clean, frame horns were boxed in (passenger side almost done), and the front axle was stripped down to the housing:

We made some really good progress this weekend.

Figured it right around 1000 pounds. Clearing the front cross member was fun.

Didn't get any pictures, but, for the sake of documentation, we put a new water pump and thermostat on/in.
