We broke a few things, but made it out alive. Here is a quick picture of the 4 Runner on the trailer, perfect fit.

Brakes are fixed adn also upgraded to a dual diaphram brake booster. 4.7 geared t-case is in, just need to bolt the Budbuilt back in. Also got my 3/16" gas tank skid done. Will get pictures later this week as I am headed to the Pittsburg area for work over the next two days.

Well I finally have the 4 Runner ready to go again from when I blew the rear brake hard line. Whne I blew the line I also blew the master cylinder and booster. So I replaced both with units out of a V6 4 Runner.

I also beat the hell out of the stock skid plate on Trail 20, so I built a new one from a skid plate that Skid Row makes for a Nissan Xterra. I modified it a good bit, but it is good to go now and is made from 3/16" steel.

While I was at it I also pulled the rear t-case and had 4.7 gears put in it by Kajo Built. He did a great job and got it done fast. i also installed a set of Trail Gear Twin Sticks. It is great idleing along at 175:1

Finally here are what my Corbeau Baja SS suspension seats look like mounted to the stock sliders with a piece of angle.

Dana got me the seat covers for my B-day.

So that is where it is at this point, just a few more parts to assemble for the SAS that may happen this winter.

Forgot to mention that I also installed one of Trail Gears HD t-case mount. That along with my chained motor mounts makes the truck react instantly. There are a few more vibs, but not too bad, definately worth it.

Alright, I have a t-case leak at the rear output so I will be fixing that this week and then we are headed up to Rausch on Sunday for the day. Should be interesting wheeling, since I put the hardtop back on, hopefully it isn't tippy.

Well we went and ran some of the blue-black and black trails at Rausch on Sunday and the 4 Runenr did great. Only issue was I found out that the 3/16" plate used for the gas tank skid is not enough for the way I wheel and how low the trick is. The skid is bent up pretty good, so I am going to take the skid off, bend it back and weld some 1/4" plate to it since I have it in the shop. Yes it will add weight, but it will be nice and low for COG issues. If I bend it again, I am putting a fuel cell in the back and being done with it :)

Plus the t-case still leaks, so I need to order up a Marlin HD seal.

You might want to look at adding some backing. The 3/16 on my FJC bent too. Once I straightened it out (for the most part) I welded in some 1"x1/4" angle iron to the backside of the plate and its held up since. Didn't add much weight either.

Yeah I thought of that, but I only have about 1/2" clearance, when straight, between the skid and gas tank. I am afraid the angle might go up into the tank. The more I think about it, it is just clearancing itself, so I am just going to run it as is and go from there unless it gets really bad. The tank just holds a little less gas now :)

Plus I would rather work on the SAS parts and what not then messing with the skid again.

How's the FJ40 coming Bill?

Just weld it to the gas tank. That will add some support. :D

The 40's coming along. Building the exhaust now...

Turns out my fuel leak was not the tank, but the hard line behind the tank. Pulled the line out and it crumbled in my hands. Was able to get it all fixed up with some new fuel hose and also bent the gas tank skid back to some what flat.

My daughter and her friend decided that the 4 Runner needed some color :D

Also, my 37" PB Rockers will be here on Friday so I will get them mounted up and see what needs to get cut.

Tires are here. Just gotta get them mounted up and see what rubs. Didn't think they would fit in my 4 Runner, but they did :bounce:

Well I finally got the 37" PitBull Rockers installed on the 4 Runner. They have about 20-25psi in them right now and I will need to trim a bit in the front to get full steering, but they measure out to around 36" and dig through the snow great.

Looks good, JT!
Is that all the snow you got?

Thanks, as for snow, that is just where I used the neighbors snow blower to make a spot to park. We got about 20" and had some drifts that were about 3'. We are supposed to get another 10" on Tuesday night.

Same here. About 27" in the low spots... up to 35" everywhere I needed to shovel. I could have used your tires. Now they're calling for 12-18" Tuesday night into Wednesday.
I really like the stance on your 4 Runner. Maybe I'll get to see it in action this year. I picked up my trailer a few weeks ago. Same place as yours.

Yeah we are supposed to get another 5-10", hoping to play around in the yard for a little bit this weekend with Addy. Gotta make her a sledding run :D

I wanted to keep this truck nice an low compared to my Tacoma. Funny thing is the 88 4 Runner is only about 1-2" taller than my stock 05 4 Runner :D

I am hopefully going to be heading up to Rausch in March, if I do I will post up. Good to hear you got a trailer, those guys do some nice work at an affordable rate.

Nice work, JT. The 4Runner looks amazing.

4Runner

JT- the 4Runner looks great!!!! Can't wait to wheel with you. I am anxious to try out my 4Runner, I'm sure though that snow will put a damper on things at Rausch until March (at least!!!). Have you heard whether they are open or not these days? I haven't seen any rigs headed toward Rausch or home from Rausch in the last month or so. We got about nine inches here last weekend then another 23 inches on Wednesday. Lotsa snow.........Gary S

Gary, thanks man, I look forward to hitting some blacks with you and your new toy as well. To my knowledge and from what I have been hearing, Rausch is open as usual, just very limited parking for trucks with trailers. i think March is the next time I will be up since my trailer is under about 3' of snow and I couldn't even get the trailer down the driveway since it is now too narrow thanks to the drifting snow. 2-5 more inches of snow are palnned for tonight :) I am ready for spring now :D

If I can get some free time I am going to hit up some local stuff with the 4 Runner, ie: my yard :)

Well after this little mishap, I now have some work ahead of me.

I've already repalced the bent suspension parts. I have a new roof section coming in the next week or two and will be ordering a 4xInnovation DOM roll cage on Friday. Going to take a day or two off work and knock it out. Hoping to have it done for East Coast 4 Runner Jamboree at the end of June.
