Cleaned up the fuel filter to help get me thinking about the huge list of "to do's" to accomplish a start up.

Picked up an old school one from @Mark at Mark’s Offroad

A little cleaning and shine with some Mother's polish. Man it turned out so good I may have to go back and redo my valve cover!

I hope they never stop making the filter components available. I was glad to see the OEM comes with the gasket and top O-ring.

All complete and ready to go in:

Since I put a front disc conversion on and was planning on re-plumbing all of the lines anyway, I thought it was a good time to add a booster and secondary line to the back as opposed to the original "one full loop" system.

The plan is the same as the old for the front - from proportioning valve to DS - across front bib frame - to PS.

Rear continued on next post:

The rear will be custom from proportioning valve across the fire wall - down to the chassis - back to the "T" junction on the axle - across rear axle to DS.

Custom 9mm x 1 male here to new hose:

Across the rear axle to driver side.

As another oddball for my year 2/70 all of my fittings are 10x1mm not 9mm!

Then there is the weird rear axle junction with the 11mm input, and the hose I bought for it that has a 9mm female.

In later years I believe both lines came across the fire wall to the PS chassis, but I don't have the special 4 way junction to split to front and back at that point.

The only decision now is do it myself or send it to @Rainman...?

All of my brake line clips were rusted out and not salvageable so I made my own.

First I flattened out one of the old clips to pattern some new ones to cut and drill:

Added a little retaining bump and rolled them around a 1/4" bit:

Bent a 90 degree at the correct spot - an old rusty one in the mix for reference!

Then sent them out to get plated...viola!

I thought it would be a good exercise to see if I could do my own brake lines by starting with the short fuel line from carb to fuel pump so I picked up the OEM olives, nuts and a bender...

The copper nickel sure makes it easy! I had to tape off the bender to avoid some marring but if you take your time it is pretty easy going.

Can someone show me a close up picture of the bracket that holds the line at the front of the valve cover? All searches on MUD show far away shots. If I can't find a bracket I will have to fabricate my own.
