This will serve as my introduction to the site as well as my build thread.

I recently acquired a 2007 GX470 with 101K miles that my mother drove and babied for the last 8 years. I think at this point I have read every GX build thread on the internet, and figured I would add mine in there too. I am in Baton Rouge, as it seems several other built GXs also reside.

For the last 5 or 6 years I drove a lightly modded FJ that I loved, but when the GX became available I could not pass it up. I have been wanting to build this truck since the first time I drove it years ago.

I have all of the parts for my first round of mods, and they will be installed over the weekend.

Whats going in:
Bilstein 5100s up front
OME 885 Coils
Rear Airbag trick for now
Trail Gear 1.25 Spacers all around
285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer STT will be installed at the beginning of next week.

Pictures to follow

Cheers!

Attached are some photos of her stock and all of the parts.

Well, ran into some issues with my install today. All of the Allen head bolts on the top plate are sized up. Several trips to lowes later and still no luck. Sun was going down so I put everything back together stock, put the spacers on and called it a night. Not really sure what I am going to do to get past this one. Any advice

@THeGeNTLeMaN I am not a member of Louisiana land krewesers. A couple of times I had people leave Louisiana land krewesers business cards on my FJ, but I never joined up because I bought my FJ sight unseen through a wholesale auction. I had the unfortunate pleasure of getting one of the few 2wd fjs with no locker so it saw very little time off-road

For my set up I had Metal Tech assemble my front struts altogether with the new top plates and bushings so that when I took my old stuff out all I had to do was pop the new ones in I didn't have to reuse anything. You it might be worth it to just buy some new top plates and bushings and have your local shop assemble everything. Then you can just take all that old stuff off and who cares if you break it or anything.
