Jet Boil any good?

I just cannot imagine needing to use Diesel. Considering in our country it is fairly rare. That being said I've only used unleaded in mine maybe twice when in a bind. Other than that it's only had white gas in it.

The problem with burning a dual fuel stove with anything other than canisters or white gas is that the jet gets gunked up. Many dual fuel burners have 2 different jets, one jet for WG and canisters and a slightly larger jet for all other liquid fuels. Thus, you have to keep up with one extra jet (small parts/easy to lose). Not a problem if you don't use it very often, but something to consider...and very rarely mentioned in sales brochures.

Gonna give the Jetboil a try and see if it can fill my backpacking needs while I restore my old Coleman 2 burner for a base camp stove.

I do like the multi-fuel capability. Do you think it is worth it to have the XGR that can use diesel as well as unleaded, kerosene, and white fuel? Or do you think some of the other models that are lighter, and have some simmer functionality are just as good without the diesel fuel option?

Dual is only a concern if you're traveling internationally. Otherwise, it's personal preference.
