Kind of related, I have to capped plugs in front of my ratiator. What are they for? I haven't seen them mentioned before So I'm curious what wiring is there and what I can add.

Those front wires may be for the front camera and dynamic cruise control that I think came on the Canadian models. Acrad would know for sure.

@Acrad , any ideas? And if that's the case, can I just order the camera and sensors and assorted pieces and have it all work, because that would be awesome. I noticed my Ironman bumper has what looks like a camera cutout directly above the fairlead and was wondering if that was actually what it was. I would love a front camera.

Yep... pre-wire of the camera and radar/pre-collision on 10-13 models both US and Canada. Wiring is not there for '14+ if not optioned.

The guy with the '11 who retrofitted radar cruise used those.

I have the ECU and stock cameras to do this but just haven't gotten around to it.

This is interesting because if this is there it is the first '14+ I've seen with pre-wire. Are there actually two dongles? That larger one would be for radar cruise and the other smaller one would be for the camera.

Yes sir. 2 different plugs on a 2016 Premium. Do you happen to know what's needed to make that all work? Active cruise would be amazing but I imagine that radar would be spendy and possibly not work die to the bumper. The front camera would be cool, but I've never seen it on this vehicle so I don't know how it works.

Where would these cables be on a 2010 exactly? I’m curious if my 2010 base has them.

Also, your side bottom pieces look off to me, maybe it's just the picture. When my bumper was first installed the bottom corners were actually installed on the wrong sides and it didn't sit right (they will install backwards and upside down. Again, it may just be the angle of the photo, or they may be on the wrong sides like mine were. This is mine from the front now.
I had to pull the skid plate this afternoon so I decided to see what you were talking about. You must have a different version of the Ironman bumper than I do. Those side pieces would not fit in any other orientation. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Lots of links you will want to check out.

Parts list fo for radar cruise is listed in that CL thread. I've only heard of that one '11 owner doing a retrofit.

Connectors should be easily seen right in the middle area. Mine were bundled together.

For '14 you could go with Beatsonic camera option

Here is a lengthy discussion on OEM cameras and nothing necessarily hard documented for write up

I'm waiting on some pics from offroad47 as he has a '13 with radar and cameras I need to see what his disassembled dash looks like for one of the ECUs.

I just got a little lighting upgrade. Alpharex Nova-series Alpha-Black LED headlights. We'll see how they function this weekend after install. I just wanted an updated look and hopefully a little better performance. I'll post more when they're installed.

Posted the lights and realized I never posted about my trip a month ago. I took a group up from Florida to do the Smokey Mountain 500 in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. We spent 5 days doing the loop and completed most of it, with the only section not completed being a closed section where the SM500 coincides with the Georgia Traverse. My group has done that section on another trip so no big deal.

The trip went great. We had a lightly modified Ranger, a Ram with tires, a lightly modded 4Runner, heavily modded older 4Runner and my GX. We had everything from torrential downpours for entire days, to snow and everything in between. Night temps went from the teens to the mid 40s. Our group was running a few camp solutions from ground tents, car camping and my CVT RTT. Everyone seems happy with their set ups with the exception of the ground tenter who ended up sleeping in his back seat the day it poured. He took a hard look at the RTT after that night.

Anyway, onto the pics:

I got the Alpharex Nova headlights installed a couple weekends ago. I wanted to use them for a bit and be able to give an opinion of them before posting. So far, I like them. The light output is nice and crisp. The cutoff line is good. I think they look cool. That's all I was hoping for. If I had a stock front bumper the install would have been a piece of cake and taken maybe an hour. As it is, the install took about 3 due to the Ironman bumper.

Getting the grill and upper portion of the factory bumper out with the Ironman in place was a pain. The headlight washers were the main issue since they stick back about 4 inches behind the bumper. Other issue was when the bumper was installed the guy cut off the factory plug when wiring in the Ironman lights (which I immediately swapped out for BD Squadrons anyway). So rather than it just plugging in, I had to hunt for the wire and wire it in. Not a big deal, but took some extra time.

Anyway, onto the pictures. If anyone wants to see a video of them working, I can upload one to YouTube.

Do they throw out farther than stock without having to resort to high beams?
That's my biggest bane with headlights, not having them throw out far enough and out running them on long dark stretches of highway.

Also, can you put a link or something in the Guide to GX 460 Builds and Aftermarket Products thread.
Let TEX GX460 know and he'll add it to the product list, assuming you give these a thumbs-up!
Thanks!

These are the lights I purchased. They offer two variants, mine are the black version.

As for the lighting itself, these do not have auto-leveling, so you can just dial up the lights as far as you would like the throw to be, but you'll start blind oncoming drivers. I have my passenger side aimed higher than the drivers side. I just grabbed some screen shots from a couple GoPro videos I shot the other night.

These show low beam and high beam taken from roof height. High beams you can't tell the headlight only reach though because my LP9's are wired into the factory high beam switch. I just wanted to see the reach of headlights and my light set up while I was out.

I'll add the link to the lights in the aftermarket products thread as well.

Installed a Redarc tow pro elite v3 today in preparation to towing a car to Formula Drift next weekend. The tow deal probably isn't happening but I'm still going for the drift comp and the PasMag show in the Volk area. Lmk if anyone else is going.

The Redarc installed easily. Simple as mating the Redarc harness to the aftermarket plug that goes to the truck. Soldering/heat shrinking took the longest. I got the blank replacement for the favor switch spot from Redarc too and it installs like factory.

I haven't updated this is a while, but I've done a few things. Nothing huge, just small stuff to make existing stuff better.

On the Rigd swingout I've added a Sidehack. Mounted to that I've added a Jerry can holder with a Wavian can on the outside, than a Rotopax for what on the inside. On the Rotopax I then added a water bottle powered dispenser. I saw one at an expo and thought running water would be cool, but maybe gimmicky. I actually really like having it. I just take it off during travel and put it on during camp. For $20 to have running water I really like it.

I've also added some storage to the rear. I got a Bison Gear roof shelf and Kaon rear window molle plates. the extra storage came in pretty handy on my last trip. Having added bags to the molle, I now have easy access to my first aid kits, fire extinguisher and some straps and tools I use in camp.

I also got rid of the stock chrome tail lights in favor of the new blackline tail lights. Same lights, no function added, I just really disliked the Altezza look lights andthe black rears now match the black fronts from Alpharex.

Lastly, I've swapped tires, again. I like the way the Nitto M/T's looked and obviously they were great in the mud, but they were more aggressive than I wanted or needed. I bought them when tires were pretty hard to come by so they weren't the size I really wanted, or pattern, but they were what I could get. I swapped out the M/T's for Toyo's new Open Country Trail right when they came out. I've had them on for a bit now and really like them. I get probably 1/3 of the road noise I had from the M/Ts. Gas mileage went up a touch. They ride extremely well on the road and have done great offroad as well. I just got back from doing the Smoky Mountain 1000 and they saw everything from mud, clay, sand, tons of rock and everything in between, and handled everything great. Then I went to the beach on Sunday and they did just fine there as well. So far, I'm very happy with them.

Wow! You really have been busy! Look'n good!
BTY, it's not silly having water on tap. I have a gravity feed off the bottom of my 5 gal jerry with a soap bottle zip tied. Can't tell you often that comes in handy for washing hands, rinsing something off, or a drink. And I'm not just referring to camping either. When we're at the beach, skiing, off roading for the day, or even just in a parking lot.
Also I really appreciate the MOLLE rear quarter racks and shelf also. It gets a lot of stuff off the rear deck of my rig that I keep on me all the time, like IFAQ's, tools, hiking sticks, recovery gear, jumper's, etc.

So I swapped out the S2Pros on the pillars for a set of Squadron Pros. Along with the LP9s on the bumper, and the SAE Squadrons in the bumper, the lighting up front is pretty squared away. With that done, I put S1s on the underside of the roof rack for chase lights (still need to wire it up but figuring out the best way). I still needed better reverse lighting, so I ordered new LED bulbs from The Retrofit Source for the bumper and Baja Designs new S1 hitch mount. Results are below, but I really like it. I installed the hitch mount before the new back-up lights to see how good it is, you can see the answer below. I did have to extend the wiring harness because I put the light on the Rigd swingout, but it was simple enough.

I like their new hitch light, definitely going to need one of those for the Cruiser.

It's pretty slick. Not a new idea, but the small company that was making the plastic hitch insert before didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Now that BD themselves are putting it out I had some confidence. Everything fits really really well, and works like I thought it would. Very happy with the purchase.

The LED's in my MetalTech bumper are such an improvement over the factory backup lights, I've never felt I needed any more lighting back there. Hence I like having a "D" ring receiver in my hitch. I've found that more useful since I have plenty of lighting behind me.
