I found this......looks good. Will order some up as 3 of the 4 caliper bolt holes are stripped.....

In the meantime, I got the steering assembled. Even added some bling to the dash.

The issue with timeserts is the kit is probably more than a new knuckle! What size is the bolt, I have a few kits, I could send you to borrow! Other issue is Im on vacation til next Saturday!

I appreciate the offer. Lemme think on this.....maybe just retapping to a larger size might work. Might be the easiest solution too.

Caliper has enough meat, I would go next size up! When I first drilled and tapped my camaro camel hump heads for push rod guides( 20 plus years ago!) I was nervous about drilling cast iron! Turns out it drills and taps like butter!! Bigger is better right!

Jack, if you have the right size tap you can weld the hole up and re-tap it. I have done it a few times in the past, since every knuckle seems to have a stripped hole or 3. Toyota knuckles are cast steel, which is weldable. Just pre-heat it with a torch and wrap it in welding blankets to let it cool slowly afterwards.

I'd do some kind of an insert (but only because I can't weld and do as @peacesells63 suggested). But if you decide on larger hardware instead, make sure the new hardware will fit through the caliper.

Crisis avoided. I was able to retap the caliper mounting holes to except a fine thread 1/2 bolt. Did not have to remove the knuckles to do so. Also I enlarged hole in the caliper, but just barely.
The steering box got cleaned, painted, and resealed. Then installed and connected to the relay rod.
Time to order more parts....lol

Getting the steering column sorted. Started to tear down the 2F for its reseal and paint.

Kind of a big milestone.......got the wheels (just rollers) bolted back on. Then I realized I need to clearance the front calipers cause they just barely rub the welds on these wheels.

Take 2......calipers now clear the wheels. All 4 wheels attached. It's a roller. Need some tie rod adjustment.

The ubiquitous can’t use drum wheels on disks cause they’re welded narrative.
because no one apparently owns a grinder lol.

Actually these are mini truck steelies and they clear a normal caliper just as a 40 disc wheel does. It's the V6 4Runner calipers extra ribs that cause the clearance issue. The grinding required is very little though.

Package showed up and it didn't take long before I started bolting stuff on the fake 45. Love the easy stuff.

Thanks to @jblatz and an ebay find, i now have almost all the correct factory supplied goodies.

Got a couple more easy things done tonight. Clutch master and rear diff cover are installed.
Tomorrow is engine clean, reseal, and paint. Hopefully ending the day with the motor in the chassis.

Rolled it out of the garage to make room for engine fun.

Motor got some fresh paint. Now to clean and paint all the other motor and bellhousing doodads.

Motor's not installed cause cleaning all the nasty bits took too long. Everything is ready to reassemble now though. Hopefully I can get it all together tomorrow before heading to dinner with my parents for Father's Day.
It's happy hour now......

Oil pan is installed and bellhousing is ready with mounts. Gotta get the hoist ready and then install a new rear main seal and pilot bearing. This baby is going in soon.
