Exactly, it took 1.5 years for a set of caster plates to go from the top of the tool box to a shelf waiting on hardware.

Hey, that is kinda harsh. It was only a year https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=7309&highlight=caster+plates

:flipoff2:

In the same time we also did a 100 series rear bumper, diff drop, ac skid plate and some other stuff :D

Here is a picture so that you do know they exist.

As for the Turbo, we are talking to AVO, but nothing decided yet. As for your comments, I do agree and also stated that to Peter Luxton from Safari way back in 1997, that you should be able to buy the kit, install yourself and take your own risks on that. In the US market it is important to give people that choice.

Only busting on you Christo. Hell I've been working on some roof rack gaskets in my free time. I talked with a guy 2 weeks ago who will take my templet and work up the files and provide the product. It's been a year+ for me to get this far on something that simple.

And :flipoff2: the 100 series guys.

I'm sure that this has been offered before, if ya ever need drawings made, I would gladly barter....of course there is also a landcruiser nut in your neck of the wood who could rapid prototype parts for you to check out spacing, etc

I know that Slee didn't think any <95 80 LC was worth a SC after about 35,000 miles and a turbo should make a heck of a lot more hp than a SC, if not then why even bother with turbo lag

Not 100% correct. We are not comfortable doing it and if we do it, and we have, then we want the customer to realise the issues involved with the earlier trucks and putting any type of forced induction on them.

Mileage is not really the only criteria, it is the overall condition of the motor.

The only issue I see in preparing the 1FZ for boost will be the head gasket. The remainder of the engine is extremely beefy for the current state of tune.... and would be well up to some mild forced induction.

The trucks with flapper style air flow meters run lean when adding forced induction. When you do not address this, you will melt the pistons. We have seen this on both turbo's and supercharged trucks.

Alright Christo, now you went and did it. How does that go? It don't mean :flipoff2: without some pics!!
Christo, please make available pics of the two different types of air flower meters. Here or on your site would be good.

Thanks,

Yomama

The EFI issues are a given, I was only speaking of the engine's "hard parts". The lean running of the forced induction trucks is well docmented on this ih8nud.

What do you mean by "real oil cooler"? Got any links to good products that you would recommend? Also, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the FJ80's have a stock oil coolers? Are these not good enough?

<<< I believe that our 6 is missing 2 journals compared to a supra engine, so don't base your research on that engine like I started to do, apples to oranges.

Not an accurate statement. The 1FZ crankshaft is supported by 7 main bearings, just like a Supra, only they are bigger.......:D

super charged or not ?

Well I just read 4 pages and my eyes are burning ! But I still dont really know if I should super charge my 96 fj80 with 150000 highway miles (looks and runs like 75000) and what else I would need besides the TRD super charger ? please help the money is burning though my pockets. $$:D thanks guys

psj1945,

I'm not sure what help you need....

Maybe this? You know you want it, so just give Dan a call and order the Supercharger and get on with the installation.

Just send the money to me. Whenever you get ready to accelerate, you can call me on your cellphone and I'll make vrooom vrooom noises in your ear.

Thanks :) , It's still alot of money for me but I think it's a fun thing to add and would complete my list of mods. How do I get in touch with Dan ?

Ok Shocker, do you take cash ?

Beowulf, I thought my trany might need some help ? to handle the power. It works like new though.

The transmissions in Land Cruisers are pretty stout. It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out, but you don't really need any modifications to it to run a supercharger.
