Bad Arse indeed!

Great job Andy.

That rig is night and day from when I saw her last week...and no puddle of rad. fluid underneath!

:p

Congrats.

-o-

PS: we are definitely taking her to SnT09 :D

I expect your ROTW to have so many pictures it will feel like dial up when I open up the thread...
That's the only way I can excuse so little picture being provided now. I look forward to your write up as I will be starting my SOA within a few months.

Haha, I completely agree. Hopefully I'll be doing my SOA next spring / summer.

MAF's brake lines are 25 1/2" long for SOA.

Thanks for that Chad. That agrees with my seat of the pants measure of 24 inches. I'll go for 26 incase I can get some crazy rear flex.

I would imagine that the IFS disclaimer on Trail Gear's website applies only to trucks and Runners produced prior to the 1986 model year. When I did my SOA, I thumbed through the United parts catalog at NAPA and found hoses with inverted flare nuts and a 10x1.00 pitch that were approximately 5 to 7 inches longer than the stock hoses. Just ask the employee to locate the specs for the stock hoses and then find the hoses that have the same ends but are longer by the aforementioned length. I may be able to produce the part numbers for the ones I used if need be. They were in the neighborhood of 25", the rear is slightly longer than the front if I recall correctly.

man that looks great. I have been doing the same saving parts and am getting closer. thanks for the inspiration!

you plan on running the stock gears and 35's?

Clint

great job Mr. Drew ..

Did you plan run OME shocks .. ? are you planning to run your lower rear shock mounts on the axle ?

OME shocks are too short.

I'm running Rancho 9012 up front and I'm planning to run 9112s in the rear. Just like my FJ40.

I made the rear shock mount-I took a Ruffstuff perch, cut a slot, welded in a piece of 3/8 x 2 stock with a 5/8 hole. The 5/8 hole supports the shock bolt. I can get pics over the weekend when I get back to the project. Anyway, with the perches set up this way, the shock mounts in roughly the stock rear position only right at mid axle height. I could mount them to the axle, but this solution was cleaner. I borrowed the idea from Mudrak.

DG-It has 4.11s now. I may stay with that and run 35s for some rubber overdrive. I think I will pull out the H55f, and run the H41 that I have with a toybox/split transfer. I spoke to Marlin at SnT. He is tweaking the toybox a bit and moving the output by a few thousandths. I think he'll have the Toybox v 1.5 ready in a couple of months. Either that, or I'll swap in the 4.56s from my FJ40 and consider 36s or possibly 37s. I want to try out 35s first with the current gearing and see how I like it.

Are not Marlin ready with a toy box that match with the H55F .. ? would be nice to keep it and run 4.88

I was just about to say that CaliCruiser just installed a toybox behind his H55. When I get enough dough, that's the route I'm going to take.

Well, I suppose that's not a bad-looking rig...for a 60. I'm thinking you need to take that on the wagon run Rubithon '09... Perhaps we will finally see if a 60 really IS better than a 55 "In every way" as you so often post.
We should discuss this on a Tuesday, with Miss Studebaker...

(P.S. You still gotta smog that thing?)
