Curiousity question, not meant to be a wiseass, but what is in Indio that made you move there?

I have done some work out there and everytime we are there, its hot as balls and we all ask each other "Why on earth would people live here"?

Well for starters...wife and I both have family in the area. Also, we wanted to be closer to immediate family to help us when the time comes to start a family (reason #2) And the homes are 1/2 the price of LA...we have a beautiful 4 bedroom home in a gated community for less than $400K.....The problem now is my line of work went in the crapper...mortgage lending....

What a bunch of pansies. I went mountain biking yesterday at noon for an hour and a half. I didn't even collapse untill after I got home.

Glad the Cruisers AC problem worked out ok Dave, good luck on the house AC. Be glad you have AC at work, I got nada. At least we don't have the 87% humidity that poor bastard Smitty has.

105 in Simi last friday, heat index at 112.

88 last night in Ventura till 2 AM.

This morning, there was a gecko INSIDE my office window sill, he's usually on the outside.

A/C in my truck was blowing cool, but not ice cold like it normally does. I take her out on weekends just to let her know I still care about her.

Still like driving the LC much better than the tops down Miata with stick!

Just kidding, the PO had one installed in the cup holder slot, where it fit almost perfectly. It has since been evicted and a cupholder installed in it's place but I keep it in the console for times when I'm curious what the temp is.

This heat wave was ridicules, our house got up to 93 (Deg. F). We live at the beach so no AC. The wife, son and 5 month old daughter sat under the tree in the back yard and had a garden hose fight and played in the kiddy pool. Monday my son and I went to the beach for a couple of hours to cool off midday. Unless you were sitting in the water is was hot, all the way to the waters edge. Thank god it’s over; I can not image what you do if you lived inland with no AC.

Just as an fyi for later use. I found this info from the shaman...details temperature at which a/c will shut-off, etc...and remembered reading this thread. So here it is
