Hard to get into a groove and have to keep stopping to find something .

Hang in there...you can do it!

Found a bunch of stuff I was looking for a a few more things while cleaning the garage. Of course it dosn't look like I even put a dent in the mess
This coming week I can put more holes into the skin for the fresh water fill, city water hookup , shore line connector and marker lights .
I'm thinking about mounting all of those with Rivet nuts for easy removal and replacement if needed down the road.
The hardware store down the road had a bunch of hole saws and other goodies left over from going from an ACE to TruValue so got to round up all my things I need to drill big holes for and go shopping :grinpimp:

Many holes drilled this evening . got all the goodies in on the left side but the windows and the radio ant ( on order) .
Got another use out of the 3 1/2" hole saw I bought many moons ago to mount the snorkel on my BJ70 , and I think I was more nervous drilling this one in the trailer then the 70 :o
Tomorrow I'll dig out the windows and get them fitted , still need to rebuild them as the glass is loose and some need rivets , weather stripping and other goodies but this will help with fitting other stuff .
Try to get more pixs tomorrow .

little more progress

Painted and mounted all the outside goodies on the left side this weekend and started on the windows .
Got to order weather stripping and a few little parts for them but broke down the 1st one to fix missing , poorly repaired rivets and straighten out the frames were they were over tightened when mounted .
now, on to the pixs.

Yeah that's looking good!

tonights progress

tonight I mounted the freshwater tank ran all the hoses and finished the plumbing and tested it for leaks as its a total PITA to get the queen sized mattress in and out, It was better to be safe To fill the system up and check for leaks before screwing everything down for the bed platform and putting the mattress back in . Only thing left is to hook the lines to the sink when I install the counter top .
Rebuilt, cleaned and installed the 2nd window . Putty taped all the penetrations on the left side so .
Tomorrow I'll pull it out and start on the right side panel and I'll take some better shots.

Heres a couple of shots of what the windows looked like before and after cleaning and fixing and one of the water storage tank/plumbing

busy this week

Went down to Delaware on Saturday to pick up four, 14 feet of mill finish edge molding (wont ship unless I buy 10 plus its over $100 for said shipping ) ,an 14' of awning rail for the trailer and window operator parts. plus did some tax free shopping for home office stuff with the Cruiser :princess: since we were there (and she was nice enough to:steer: come with )

I had the "Angry Gnome" come up Sunday to help hang the right side and been just messing with that thru the week so far .
In these pixs I'm going to the uncluttered look , but makes getting in and out a PITA :hillbilly:

Heres what Ive done since Monday, waiting for some weather stripping for the cargo door (had to buy in 24 feet and only needed less then 4 but that how they sell it )
Cleaned, repaired then installed the 2 windows , mounted reflectors and the lights plus tested the lights and wiring
I test fit the door to see what needs fine-tuning , The door's a mess. started pulling all that apart as it been 50 years of PO jerry rigging and going to be a big job . I think out of all the stuff up to this point its going to be the most challenging thing on this . Still kicking around how I'm going to do it

Niiiiice, just went thru ur thread,I just dig vintage trailers.Btw what year is ur canned ham its soo:cool:,good work.

Hey Thanks
Its a 62 Layton cant find really anything else about it .
Not much done this weekend as Mom thought it was a good idea to break 3 ribs falling during the week and it was time to go to the hospital this weekend

I tore the door apart during the week , Its screwed the outer and inner frame was good but the window and the inner, outer panels and hinges were a bent, rusted rigged up mess.
I took the door to a local metalwork shop to have new panels cut and bent to fit tight into the frame. picked up a new door window that matches the trim of the other windows better then the old one.
Made up the window screen frames during the week after work and found trim to cover/mount them in the trailer .

Had my father help me side the roof on after I put the bubble wrap style heating duct wrap on. Needs to be trimmed some since the "flying nun" awning is a "look" just not the one for the trailer ;p
Heres a few pics
