How about the sidewall? I would be worried if the sidewall looks like that.

Pardon if I miss that part, I say run it and keep an eye on it. I work for a fleet and we see a lot of dry rot on vehicles that sit a lot and very low miles. i just stumbled on a dump truck tire 22.5 that came originally in 2012 and no signs of any cracking but we end up replacing it since someone never bothered to check the build date.
As I said, none on the sidewall

I've had 20 year old tires that look better than your photo. Is this cracking more common with MT tires? I've never run them. Nevertheless I would be OK driving on these. Did you buy them 4 years ago and now they only have 200 miles? And I thought my driving was sparse. :D

Is this a southern state issue? I see you’re in Atlanta. I know your summers get hotter than Chicago.

They have 200 miles on them

This is probably a factor IMO

I've had relatively new tires on project cars that sat multiple years. Tires had maybe 10k miles on them before being parked.
Tires had fine cracks and went rock hard from lack of use. Tires left a dark tread pattern stain on the garage concrete floor.

When this car was driven to another house when i moved, the tires squealed loudly at evry corner.

I think without regular use, rubber hardens. With regular driving, the tires get hot, and keeps the rubber supple

They age faster when not used and exposed to UV. I would drive them, but probably would also replace them if going on a significant trip.

My buddy has a tire / automotive shop he would say these tires are trash and would say your putting his family and friends at risk by running those tires. Me on the other hand I would run them .

Hmm...mine are March '22 production and no issues...Falken Wildpeak M/T 315/75/16's that I picked up used on Marketplace a few years ago...about 10k miles on these from my use. I do use regularly, but sometimes may sit for a month at a time...lives in the untempered garage. Generally I'm local around town, but have taken on 3-4 annual 800-1500 mile trips with several days of aired down wheeling (usually 15-17 psi aired down and 30 regular driving).
