Hello! I decided to tackle the timing belt myself. Was following the OTRAMM video and all was good well until it was time to put the belt in. Half of me thinks I am in time, and the other half of me thinks I’m way out. It took me a long while to actually get the belt on for some reason since the belt was insanely tight. After fighting it for hours, I decided to start from the beginning and it went on easy peasy. And since then I’ve been nervous that the time is not right

The pictures are before I started turning the motor. After 1 full revolution, and setting the crank to 0, the cams were on the line, not the T. On top of this, I am getting resistance when I turn the crank and if I let it go too soon, it will rebound back. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any words of advice? My buddy says to send it I would hate to ruin my new truck. Thanks in advance, I would post a video of me turning it but I don’t think I can

the picture you have is not a 2005 LX.

When I set timing I did not use the "T" mark. Instead I went with the notch marked on both cams: L-cam arrow on the belt lines up to the left cam notch and right cam belt arrow mark to the notch on right cam housing.

The dimple mark on the oil pump housing matched the crank sprocket mark and that brings the crank mark on the belt to the notch marked on the crank sprocket.

Hello! Thanks for the input. How do you know this isn’t a 2005? Vin says this is a 2005 and the carfax shows no signs of motor replacement

2002 and newer got vvti, the cam should have a bigger lobe. not just a plain sprocket as a non-vvti model.

Wrong on the date but right on the cam phaser.
MY 2006+ got it.
So if it was manufactured earlier (Sold as a MY 2005) it doesn't have VVT-i.
In 2005 for the 2006 model year (so the late 2005 manufactured cars SOLD as 2006s), a refresher included LED tail lamps, adding VVT-i to the engine and increasing its power to 205 kW (275 hp).

Looks correctly timed to me.

I would pre load the belt to make sure it lines up, pry on the tensioner pulley and take the slack off the belt then recheck it.
