Update # 8 (I think)
I just removed the rear spoiler using the directions from the guys at lcool. No real problems with the removal of the spoiler and no issues with the patch work.
After remove the bolts, I used a single strand from the guts of 550 cord (parachute cord) to saw thru the tape. But about a quarter the way thru I simply game the spoiler a little tug and it came right off, tape and all.
As for the holes I used Body-Tite panel trim retainers with black silicone adhesive to lock them in, so we shall see what happens.
Now that the spoiler is removed the loading of the kayaks is no longer a huge pain in the ass. It also allows me easier access to items that I have stored in the rear of the rack that are under the RTT.
