wow, i must say... awesome to see your 200 being used! The rig is very capable, and looks good!
One thing i always carry, is a 8inch blade saw and a big axe. that is way more space and weight friendly than an chainsaw, and its handy at campsite all the time.
Your thread and pictures makes me wanna go camping...

sbly, it's been a while since I checked in on your build. Your 200 has come a long way, and what amazing trips. Will you be at the IPOR Open House on Saturday, October 9? Also, I went back and re-read your updates and didn't see your tire size mentioned/listed—I'd love to know which 18 inch BFG All-Terrain T/A KO you're running.

TLC Norway,

I think your idea of the 8" blade saw is a better way to go.

4Peanut,

I am hoping to be at IPOR on the 9th. The LC has 285/65/18 tires for now, if I stay with 18" rims I will go with the 275/70/18.

sbly, my attendance is still TBD, but I will definitely introduce myself if I see your rig there. Can I ask why you'll be going to a smaller BFG All-Terrain? I'm about to purchase tires for my OEM 18" 100 Series wheels and am unsure of going all the way to a 285. Thanks.

slby, I am considering MTZ 275/70/18. I may be pushing it a bit without a suspension upgrade and lift as yet. Without a lift do you know if they will rub on the mudguards? Your thoughts appreciated.

Cheers, Bill

4Peanut,
The 285/65/18 are 32.6" tall where as the 275/70/18 are 33.2" so I will be going a little taller but they are thinner.

Billfish,
JB is running the 275/70/18 on his lifted 200 and I want to say that his tires did rub when he first put them on.

I sure hope to see you guys at the open house! My '06 LX is at IPOR right now about to get a new OME set up and some new BFGs. Hope to see a lot of Cruisers there and would LOVE to see that 200 up close!

no1sportz,

We hope to make it to the IPOR open house. I would like to see a few of the expo style vehicles that the IPOR guys have built in the last few months.

After 30k miles and a few trips under it's belt it was time to upgrade the rear springs on the 200 to the ARB constant load 880 springs. The cruiser feels a little stiffer and the rear end appears to sit a little higher, but the ride quality is still good. I also had the ICON rear trailing arms re-adjusted, it seems that after a few bumps and a mile or two on the trails my passenger side trailing arm decided to tight-up. Now it's time to change the driver side turn light in the ARB front bumper.

This is what the passenger side ICON rear trailing arms looked like, before and after.

beno,

Yea I know, I have been gone for a while and I have been slacking on my PM duties. Between all the trips and the D.C. snow storms this year, what can you do?

Any recommendation on spray or gels for rust removal?

Well, getting the corrosion off is one thing, preventing it is another.

Wire wheel end on a drill and get the surface stuff off. Then put a big tarp down, pull your rig over it and then take some real cheap 30 weight oil and a rag and cover the entire underside. Do it a few times during the snow season out east. The salt won't stick. Make sure to wash down the underside of the rig after every use in the snow.

Yup, they rubbed just on one wheel well by just a TAD. After alignment, the rub was gone.

Cam,

I will have to say that I really like these armored 200's.

PS. Any word on my shock issue?

that's one ugly rear end
