Welcome. Nice looking rigs! Other than the lift and rack accessories, is the FJ stock?

Are those rear shackles reversed? It's hard to see from the pix. Looks like you have a lot of tread (depending on the date of the pix) to wear down before moving to 35's. Are you going to run 35x12.5 on a 2F?

when i first started to lift the rig i used the long grease able shackles adds and a body lift, i wasn't happy with that so i went to soa and am still planning on removing a long leaf spring on each pack and removing the body lift but i don,t want to shorten the shackles till that is complete in case i loose to much lift.
i have the stock drive train in it with the only problem the 2f being a real turd on the highway, i have a weber on the bench getting it ready to install and jet it, planning on a header and a recurved dizzy, hoping for a little more pony on the highway

here is some pictures of the rig when i first bought it from the family next door for a $1000,

If the body lift is only 1", I'd leave it on even if just for pressure washer clearance.

I understand fuel injection is not too difficult on the 2F and that it is quite the upgrade for both power and mpg's.

Did you use a liner on the bottom of the body panels? I like the looks before and after, but especially after:)

Nice to see you posing up here Dave!
The rig looks GREAT! I cant believe you only paid a GRAND for that!?!?!

Yeah...been working quite a bit. Grateful for that too, but its cramping the rig time. Had to back off on the spending some too. It was eating the savings down and had/ have to pace that better.
99% of the BIG expenses are DONE except the exhaust and the chassi wiring. The rest is nickle and dime (100 bucks here and there, not really nickle and dime) stuff. Im relegated to cheap "odds and ends" stuff now which is good, cuz there is a TON of that crap to do.

Hello,

My name is Keith. My wife and I and our three kids live in Bakersfield CA, but we vacation in the Reno area once a year and we have familiy in Truckee that we try to visit often. Now that we have a FJ62 we want to do some events with other's who share the same passion and obsession with their trucks...

Here is our truck. Its old, shakes, rattles, leaks oil, and slow but I love this thing.... Cant wait to take it out for some real 4-wheeling. Lots of things left to do, I have a project thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/443250-1989-fj62-project.html

Welcome to the asylum.

Hmm I guess it depends on the time of year. Summers here suck.. The air qaulity here in BK in terrible and everyone gets valley fever which is a nasty illness caused from fugas in the dirt.

Yeah I had it when I was around 2 or 3 out in Taft. A friend's kid has been fighting it for months, and I just heard another kid died. Nasty stuff.

Hey all,

My name is Jeff. I recently purchased a '74 FJ40 with a SBC 350 conversion and SOA w/35's. The PO was definitely NOT very mechanically inclined, so I'm having to redo most of it. It is presently torn apart in the garage for winter with a Scout PS conversion underway and a Serpentine belt conversion while I'm adding the PS pump. Also decided to add Lukes (4x4 labs) Hi-Steer kit as well. The $ are racking up fast but I'm having fun and learning a lot while I'm at it. Looking forward to doing a little wheeling come spring. For all the M/C riders, I am also the webmaster for the Dust Devils Dual Sport M/C here in Reno.

BTW, When & Where is the next BBCNN meeting?

Welcome! Sounds like you have a nice project to keep you busy this winter. Post of a photo or two of your rig when you get a chance... we all like photos!

(I'll let someone more in the know answer your question about next meeting.)
