As you can see in one or two i took some rubber hose and split up middle...then put it over U bolts or over hard lines...and zip tied into place in two or three locations. Bent some a little but did not want to force it and snap one in half....but should cushion the contact betwen support brackets, ubolts and the hard lines for brakes and AHC that were in place.

Hey Brock - I think we exchanged a few emails sometime ago... Didn't you have a brick red FJ at one point? The LX is looking good... You guys need to post up when you hit Uwharrie... I've been 3yrs in a row and have only seen a couple land cruisers up there... I wheeled the 100 pretty hard up there but that red clay mud is a PITA... I really do hate that mud...

Yep, blue FJ60, brick FJC, and now also a white LX470. The ONSC and ourselves go on a regular basis...welcome to join us anytime. PM me your email and will let you know whenever we go there or somewhere else in NC if you are game for a little drive. Also, have you checked with the FJ Bruisers...they have Land Cruisers as well as FJC in their club and do a lot of wheeling together in DelMarVa area and PA too.

Went out to a little piece of property I am going to bowhunt this year....to swap out memory cards, batteries and check mineral blocks. Flat here along coast but owner of property has dug a little pond so got some poser action on way out...LOL

AHC was set on normal height/normal(2) dampening

Got tires a little muddy going through cypress swamp area on back road...did not risk it further as no winch yet...LOL

any rubbing?

Well, I read the stories of the terrible Nakamichi stereo (actually this is made by Fujitsu)....and figured I wanted to add Sirius and NAV later anyhow...and miss being able to play my mp3s on USB Thumb Drive through front USB port as well....so bought a Pioneer AVH3200DVD and hooked it up to the stock system.

First I searched for installation options...which were replace and rewire everything...or do it piecemeal...or just change head unit. Still there was some disagreement on how well it would work...but someone I have gone to for info and has always been a straight shooter assured me it could be done.

So off I go to a local shop to see what they would charge as I am not even remotely confused with being an electrical or stereo guy though I have installed a few including on my FJ60. First shop say, "You got to lose the factory amp and we will have to rewire everything...and you will lose sub unless you buy an amp from us or your head unit has 5 ports!" I tell him he is wrong and he is adamant it wont work.

Shop 2....same story but offers me a great deal on new speakers, amps, head unit, installed and out the door for $1800....hahahahahha NO THANKS!

Call 3rd shop...they say, never done a Lexus but if everyone else says it cant be done...then we will find a way to make it work, and work right! Told them I had pinouts and some info on how it was done...they were appreciative...and looked it over and said...it will take an hour or hour n half.

So the next day they took out the Nakamich (which is for sale if anyone wants it to keep their stock look and not cut into harness)...uses 22pin connector that NOBODY ELSE IN WORLD uses and they have never used since this series of radios...so there is NO WIRING HARNESS and no fit kit...complete custom install including trim. Make me an offer on the Nakamichi and it is YOURS!!!!

so the tech gets in there and cuts the connector...reviews the pin-outs...starts crimping and connecting and making everything line up. 30 minutes later he starts with radio fitment.....45 minutes total it is installed and working great.

I check it....USB, good. DVD, good. CD, good. Radio, good. Subwoofer, good. Equalizer with multiple settings including presets as well as option for auto analyze with microphone.

Only thing is they said it would take over an hour longer to custom fit some abs plastic to fill in gaps and trim it out....as he likes them to fit snug. Then another guy says, I FOUND THIS FIT KIT with a vendor we use...looks like only one out there but is expensive. So I decide to give it a try as it would cost another hours labor at minimum maybe longer.....

So ordered it and today it was finished with trim kit.

Trim kit was not a simple install...required grinding ears/nubs off mount brackets so you can mount it on holes further back therefore pulling face of radio out further as it needs pressure behind trim kit to hold it flush against back side of dash panel...but the look is very OEM and clean in my opinion. 15 minute install with figuring out how to make it solid and fitting and then refitting...but well worth it in my opinion.

This is exact same one I have...but mine was bought from manufacturer/vendor but pictures I have are the same.

I never was given the source but for what I was getting I did not care...here is number and guy that owns shop to talk to directly if desired.

If in Charleston, I recommend C.A.R.S. stereo install shop...professional, knowledgeable and did not try to sell me s*** I did not want or need.

do you shoot selfbows, recurves, or longbows...with wooden arrows, hand fletched, hand sharpened too? LOL

Ahh, a traditionalist. I do own a Bob Lee recurve that I like shooting the most, however I am not proficient enough to hunt with it. So, I regress to my Hoyt compound, blasphemy... I know, to do my dirty work.

However, I have compensated by getting within 15 yards of some hairy critters.

With that said, and to keep on topic... have you seen my drawer experiment with Warfield Off Road?

that is cool....yeah i am not as accurate as with my old compound so now I just get closer....so instead of 30-40 yards...it is now 12-20 LOL.

I need to find my black bear photograph at 8 yds in Saskatchewan Canada near Carrot River...not a Grizz like yours but still make you pucker at that distance.. LOL

But to keep on topic....it went through the woods like a Land Cruiser after I shot it...piled up 20 yds away. LOL

As good of a photographer as you are you present us with that crappy picture?

Thanks....I did not get the NAV and SIRIUS function because I have a portable DeLorme PN40 mounted to windshield for trails and camping already....and my Sirius subscription is now tied to my wifes car and dont want to pay fee to move back over plus she might divorce me if I did....she hates all the talk and BSing on regular radio during morning drive...
