Hey all, I posted on another forum, but I wanted to join this one + need some solid advice.
I want all to know that you can install a clutch disk backwards, and it will work.
It worked great for 1 day, then all of a sudden was hard to engage from a stop with the engine running.
On day three I put it back up on the stands and pulled the trans again.
I attached pix of the disk. This is an Aisin disk that was expensive.
My question is, can I reinstall this orientated the right way?
Or should I not since force was applied in the wrong direction.
The disk looks good to me, but what do I know? I'm the guy who installed it backwards

The FSM has a great diagram that shows how it should be installed.

And I wouldn't hesitate to slap that thing back together in the correct orientation and run it.

I got cocky and just "installed it". I'm a mechanic, but not cars lol. The thought didn't occur to me about orientation until I started having problems. As a side note, I think another issue was my violent installation. Pretty sure the pilot bearing was binding. I'll throw in a new one just to be on the safe side

Ya, run it.
