Finally got the tent up. In the pic from the back....what are the poles on the outside up top? Do they just stay like that? It took so long to tighten the nuts on the bolts that I was too tired to fool with it much. I think it will be pretty easy to setup though. Does the overhang bar (part over the ladder) have to be take off every time and put back flat? That is what I did. I also didn’t fool around with the windows today.....humid as hell in Asheville today.

The poles have pockets they need to be inserted into. This keeps the rain fly off the tent. My question is can you fold the tent up with the poles still on the pockets?

You can leave the poles in the pockets when you fold it up. Practice and a small step ladder make perfect.

This is definitely a cool weather tent. I think it will be perfect in the fall.
Me, my wife and my 3 month old daughter have slept in our for the last 2 nights in GA. Headed home tomorrow. We have a $18 Amazon ceiling fan, and it makes all the difference. I agree though. The fall and winter will be nice.

Link to fan please!!

We are staying at a campground so I have access to 110v power. I bought a 12v power supply from Amazon and a blue sea fuse block. I am powering my envirocoolers and that fan from that. I opened a cargo window and ran a wire up to the tent.

Possibly a small amount mileage drop but I tend to drive slower on vacation so I got the same mileage I usually get commuting to work without the tent. I can tell there is extra weight up there but not very noticeable. I expected much worse.

After this weekend we decided we need AC for family summer camping. That will happen before Memorial Day weekend.

@BJJCruiser got a link to the power supply you got for your fan?

Finally mounted the tent today. Had to fab some larger mount brackets for the wider Rhino Vortex load bars. Definitely had to take a few extra minutes to figure details out, but think all is on order. Glad this thing is nice and roomy. Only a little wind noise at 70mph, and I'm sure it will improve my mpg.

First use probably at Overland Expo, or perhaps earlier. Tomorrow, I'll test out the garage ceiling mounted system I built for storage, fingers crossed it holds!
