Anyone with the grom confirmed the dvd player still works?
You are probably going to have to be more specific....although it has been confirmed in the last few posts that multiple models DVD players are not affected by the GROM.

I’m saw the quotes regarding the grom with 08-09 and 09-10 saying it should be seen as an external cd changer / usb setup, but was hoping someone could confirm that they have actually used their dvd player with the unit. I understand the dvd player is outdated tech for most and was hoping to see if anyone has confirmed this by trying the dvd system with the grom installed.

On my 2010 LX the DVD and the RES still work fine with a VLINE2 installed.

I recently installed the Carpuride W903 in my 2015 LX570.

Here's a video of me kind of demo'ing it.

Cool concept, but it seems pretty buggy to me. The interface is all good, it's just really inconsistent and unreliable. Def not set and forget.

Going to try and use it wired in with the AUX instead of BT to see if the experience improves.

I bought the latest version of the W903 yesterday and am amazed at how well it works. How is everyone mounting this? The ball is too small for the Ram Mounts family of products. I was thinking of VHB taping to the dash, but the tape has a little foam, so I'm worried about it not feeling 'solid' when I touch it. Does anyone here have a solid mounting option?

You can get RAM ball adapters 1" to 17mm or other on amazon. You will need to look at the specific connection for the W903, but there are adapters out there to convert Garmin type ball size to RAM.

I thought that would be the case and an easy find, but I haven't found anything on Amazon or anywhere else that seems like it would work. Do you have a link you can share?

How has your Grom been working? Any issues?

I had an issue with a firmware update failing. But support was great and helped me flash to an older firmware and it’s back working. It’s seriously my favorite addition to the truck.

That's great to hear! At $170, I feel like the W903 was worth looking into. I'll give it a couple of weeks to shake it out. Do you also use a tablet? I hope to find a solution using GAIA while offroad without mounting my iPad for overland trips.

No—just my phone. Gaia does have a carplay view but it's really just view-only given the limitations of the older LX touchscreens.

I wondered if you've figured out how to connect multiple devices to your W903. The only way I've been able to do this is to put one device in airplane mode so it doesn't see the device and another can be connected. However, to get the original device connected again, the second device must essentially be in airplane mode so the unit only sees the original device.

Can multiple devices connect to CarPlay the same way they can connect to BT on the OEM unit? I can't figure out a good way to connect multiple devices to the W903. That may be the deal breaker I was hunting for.
