Info on '90 2wd 22R swap to '87 4runner w/ 22RE

I've been searching, and I'm sure its been done. I have a REALLY strong 22R with 5 speed 2WD, and a 87 4Runner 4WD with 22RE and Auto Trans thats basically shot. Swap possible? With-out spending a lot?

You'll need a 4wd Transmission and T-case... If you have the whole 2wd Truck, then yeah it's possible that you could do it for not much money.... But... If you sell your 22R and Trans, and buy a 22RE and 5 speed, you'll probably be out less, and can be done in a weekend... Not endlessly chasing all the details down...

Keep the 22re. Install 5 speed.

Thanks for the info. Just was trying to do on the cheap, had both vehicles. Live in Colorado, so kinda need the 4WD.
