I had an 85 in HS and sold it in College. This truck belonged to a friends older brother when I was in HS...I bought it in 2000.

Colorado truck, thus the lack of AC

I live in Texas and keep the truck on my sister's farm in Kansas.

Tech: runs like crap for 30 minutes then well after really warmed-up. I suspect a blown HG...is test the same as for 80 Series Cruiser...bubbles in the rad overflow?

Yes, but HG usually don't get better after warmup. Have you checked out the choke? Could also be a small vacuum leak that heals itself when the rubber tubing gets warm. John P S Nice Massey Fergeson, too!

Compression test can also be used to rule out HG.

Thanks, guys. I'll spend some time under the hood the next time I'm up there...

You have a leak at the AAP on the carb. It is used only on cold
starts and during warm up. Find the housing , fairly flat about the size of a half dollar with a vacuum line attached to it. Pull the line off and plug the line. Now the engine should start and warm up normal.

I'll try it!
