Run a bead of silicone on the threads of the deckplate blank and then simply screw it in. It will be sealed.

True, I am going to pull the actual deck plate and silicon/screw a sheet of lexan or aluminum over the hole. I want it 100% stock again. I was fun while it lasted, thanks again for the information in the deck plate thread.

Out of curiosity, why? Have issues with it or something? if so, you should share your opinion in that thread so others see it.

I plan on creating a thread discussing the snorkel and deck plate, the reasons why I chose to revert back to a stock intake vs snorkel/deck plate/ straight intake tube. I feel that Mr. T spent a lot of money in the intake system on the 100. A $35 intake from home depot seems to take the intake system out of spec. The way I drive and where I drive I feel that I am compromising engine health for added sound. I have been driving around with the vacuum hoses disconnected, a hole in my airbox, and having the intake temps rise and fall extremely quickly in traffic for 20K and I would like to seal everything back up and take it back to OEM spec. Just my shortened thoughts. I am also open to your thoughts on this...

I'm out of the Cruiser game for a while. It's been fun, and I'm sure I'll own more. The 04 went to a 'mud member, so at least it stays in the "family".

Taking it to its new owner-

What I'll be driving for the next few years-

So why the change? Seems like a backwards move to me.

To the contrary... Less gas, lower cost of ownership, lower monthly payment, and 4 yrs newer. It will put nearly $200 a month back in my pocket.

Did the car shuffle while wife is in grad school. I had a 07 Lexus GS450h and she had the 04 LC. We went to her driving a 07 ES350 and me with an 08 4Runner. Total cost of owning/driving went down nearly $400/mo overall. Every little bit helps.

Sure it's smaller, but it is a very nice ride.

260HP VVTi and 5-speed gets 19+ MPG Hwy and 16+ in town. Compared to 13/16 for the cruiser. Since I'm mostly highway, it's 15-20% less fuel. I drive 25k+ a year. Do the math and it matters.

Nice ride. Plenty of 4runner fans out there and it's for a very good reason.

I too traded my 2006 V8 4 Runner in for my LC. The extra cost between 17mpg and 15mpg was only $500 each year for me. Well worth it in my opinion!
