One thing I'm pissed about though. It was clipped on the front bumper in the parking garage of the Marriott in Buckhead last night. It's going to require[STRIKE] a repaint of the plastic[/STRIKE] a new [insert name of favorite vendor] bumper.

Fixed.

I don't really notice any difference except at WOT. I'm not missing the ponies considering the cost difference.

I don't have the headlights yet. Haven't decided on OEM or Depos. Leaning towards Depos.

I thought the depos were discontinued? Got a linky?

Just looked closer... Not factory paint. Everything else is.... Just flaked off. No sign of impact at all, but it is dark.

On power, I think the gearing change (5-spd with 4.1 diffs) makes the biggest difference in apparent power.

Not the "drop in" Depos. The true 06/07 aftermarket replacements.

Lots of cleaning. Removed bug guard and sunroof visor. Cranked T-Bars and repaired both front speaker surround foam... Not bad!

They will fit by changing out the lower valences under the lights. No problems with the grill, but I will probably swap that too...

Are you going to have it realigned after cranking up the torsion bars?

Eventually, yes. Want to let them settle in and see if the need any further adjustment first.

So, anyone have the Depo headlights? I'm curious how they compare to OEM.

Nothing yet. I can get used OEM for $200 + the ride (about $40 from west coast), or new aftermarket DEPO for $240 shipped. Only thing is that I'll have to wait until spring for the OEMs to come available...

Get the NEW aftermarket depo's because...

jk btw, OEM is better but Depo is the highest quality in aftermarket lights IMO

I had a question about the speaker surround foam. Do you mean the front speaker covers? Also, where would you get those parts at the best prices? Did you just order from the dealer?

Not the covers. I mean the flexible foam that goes between the speaker cone and the metal support ring.

See this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series...uld-my-ds-front-speaker-blow.html#post4921439

I used silicone RTV to re-glue the foam surround back to the metal basket. Essentially "fixes" the damaged speakers to get by for a while longer once the foam separates from the basket.

If you need to "fix" the door speaker cover (cloth), then you can remove it from the door panel and replace the fabric. Make sure to do all four at the same time to make sure it matches.

Well, the OEM 2006 headlights showed up, but not the filler panels or 2006 grille. I plan to take pics of the process as well as try the 2004 grille with the 2006 headlights. :-). Hoping for more boxes tomorrow. Next up after the front - LED tail lights and painted wheels...

I appreciate the recommendation. I looked on their website last Wednesday and saw that they had a used 2006-2007 grille for $100 + shipping, so I called. The guy I got on the phone was very nice and helpful. I asked if they still had it. Reply was "sure, if it's listed, then we have it". I asked on condition - to verify that it was in great shape with no cracks, etc. He confirmed that whatever it said on the website, then it was accurate and true on description. I explained that I needed it shipped Priority Mail and that I had hoped to have it in-hand on Saturday, but at the latest Monday the 6th. I was told that shipping would be "about $25" so I needed to add additional shipping when I paid via Paypal above the "standard" rate that it charges.

I promptly paid via Paypal, included more than the requested $25 in shipping with my total, and put directions in the comment box that I needed it to go out as soon as possible - as per my phone conversation with the guy at the shop.

Well, Saturday comes and goes, and no Grille.

Monday comes and goes with no Grille.

I planned to call this morning since it was after-hours by the time I got home last night.

At 9:31pm last night, I get an email stating the following:

At this time, we have a new Aftermarket Grille available for $149 or a Genuine Toyota Grille available for $293.

Would you like to upgrade for the additional $49 on the aftermarket?

Needless to say, I am fuming at this point. Not only had they NOT followed through on their promise, but they were attempting a lame bait-and-switch!

I promptly told them that I was NOT interested in "upgrading" and that I wanted the used OEM grille in good condition that I paid for. I also asked why my grille that I called to confirm in their possession had not been shipped even though I had paid extra for shipping and needed it by last Saturday.

Response:

It was not shipped because we were trying to get you a used grille from another supplier since our grille was broken when removed. We failed to find another used grille so the only 2 options available at this time are new.

No call to let me know what happened. No call to let me know that it wasn't being shipped last week like promised. No email letting me know that they were looking for a replacement used grille to fill the order. NOTHING, INCLUDING ANY RESEMBLANCE OF GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I told them that I would accept a new aftermarket grille as a substitute for the OEM one I paid for as long as there was no additional costs. Their response?

They simply issued a refund on Paypal with no comments, apologies, or explanations, and refuse to provide a grille at the agreed-upon cost. Oh, and that 2006-2007 grille is STILL listed on their website as being available.

Moral of this story: Beware of Cruiser Parts (CruiserParts.net Landcruiser Parts). Just because they list it on their website, confirm that they have it in-stock, confirm it's condition, and confirm that they will expedite shipped that you are willing to pay extra for - DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY WILL ACTUALLY DO IT!

Andy - I've also experienced bad customer service and false promises from the cruiserparts.net guys. On the other hand I've ordered a few things from them that shipped quickly and were good quality parts too. I've been on the fence with those guys since my last bad experience. They are more of a last resort for parts place for me now.

When i order i have them go and look the part over and verify it is what it is. I believe i had one issue with this company but they made it right. The problem with cosmetic parts is one mans gem is another mans junk , lol. This is so true.

Enjoy
