Can anyone explain idle and fast idle to me in basic terms for the FJ60? Wondering how to set these. There is no mixture screw on the '87 smog carb, only idle, fast idle, and I have an A/C idle up as well.

The fast idle, circled in red, controls the idle speed when you pull the choke. That's the only time it comes into play. The idle set screw, circled in blue, controls the idle speed when the choke isn't pulled...so normal operating idle of 650. The carb has an idle mix screw but it may have the cover on it that has to be carefully drilled out...second picture circled in white. If you look down from the top of the carb, you should see it.

Just in case
if your carb still has the plug over the mix screw don't mess with it unless you know what you're doing...
What are the symptoms of the current idle that you wish to address?
He pulled it and has been rebuilding it... for a bit now right @mattcheston?

Yep @NeverGiveUpYota. The rebuilt carb is back on now and running thanks to a lot of hours and a lot of help. Throttle plate action is a little sticky when coming back to idle sometimes, but I can fix that I think.
