Silvercruiser on his way to Mammoth.

Saturday.

We were on our way home from Tahoe on the 395 and managed to luck it out between closings from the fires.

We SO wanted to turn around and go his way, rather than ours.

Did ya see me Dave? '07 silver Highlander with cruisers on the back?

I'll have to post up my shots of the fire and me tearing up the Rubicon in 2WD later.

dang, you carry your Cruisers on a Highlander...?
That's a bit demeaning for an 80, isn't it? Must be a sight, though...!
:D

thought we didn't?
was a buck o' nine in the driveway!

got a growler of rootbeer and sampled a few.

I hit every brewery on the road. (since my wife is my DD until the baby lands in Oct.)
the orange beer is like a soda pop after standing in 109 degrees.

Pablo,
Yep, that was us. Right when we got to the end of Independence they closed 395 and we ended up staying the night in Lone Pine at the lovely Portal motel. We were lucky enough to get a room for the night instead of waiting for the roads to open...from what I heard 395 was closed for about 9 hours.

I'll post up some pics also. FYI, today they closed 395 at June Lake for another fire. Some large thunderstorms blew through today and caused a few more fires. Luckily they came with some good downpours of rain and the fire seems under control. The rain did make the mtn. biking quite nice.....made the dirt nice and sticky with no dust.

Can't wait to see the pics of the highlander on the Con.....we are hoping to get a highlander end of the year.

Next time on your way home from there on Hwy 14 you have to stop by my best friends, Dad's Brewery. Indian Wells Valley Brewery.

Oh and Boston, Totally Affiliated.

Very cool...I have always wanted to stop there. Give me some names so I can sound important when we stop by : )

I luv the Orange Blossom! My buddies give me a hard time but I just luv the flaver of it. If you like your darker beers with a kick then Lobotomy Bock is the one for you.

The owner & Brew Master is Rick and his son Chris and I have been best friends since the 6th grade. They live down the hill in Ridgecrest where I grew up.
