Sweet. If you hit a snag and need a hand, Let me know.

Oh yeah.......Bastid. :flipoff2:

Thanks for the offer John! I'm sure I'll need to pick some brains when it comes to playing with the manual choke 38 Weber that the PO installed. All in due time of course. In the meantime I need to Martack the axles, reassemble the knuckle, repair the parking brake, install the driveshafts, then measure and order my shocks. Just enough work to keep me busy for the next three weeks.

The extremely cool thing of all of this is the attitude the wife has taken towards this project. She is genuinely interested and has spent some quality time with me in the garage. She even picked the gauge layout from the three I had come up with.

That is about 1 days worth of work.

Chics dig the 40's. They cant resist them.

I'm balancing between the wife, the kid, the dog and the 40. The dog doesn't like the 40 so much since I singed his fur while grinding. The ungrateful old bastard pissed on the tire twice already.[/QUOTE

Prolly the same spot my dog pissed on! Looks good Phil...can't wait to her run!

Looking good Phil........you going topless on the 14th?

No nap today so out to the garage I went. Front axle and knuckles are together and awaiting rotors from Napa. I had to grind the crap out of the inside of the knuckle ball to have the 60 series birfs fit and rotate freely. I also have the high steer mocked up and the steering rod needs to get shortened a few inches. If I keep having days like today I'll be done before Todd decides to quit this hobby again. :flipoff2:

I'm debating on going topless on the 14th. I have the heater fan working but just need to fab up a duct to connect to the heater. I get a little pissy when I'm cold.

too late, exactly 2 hours ago

If I finish it?

If I finish it I won't be wheeling it. Fawk it. I quit this stupid obsession.

Ok so I got the 40 to run for all of 2 seconds last night before it completely electrically died on me. I have no electrical power anywhere except the battery. Deduction and reason lead me to believe I fried my starter solenoid. (The main battery cable and power to the fuse block connect there.) Any of you got a spare F motor starter solenoid that I can buy from you? I hate electrical problems!

You would be incorrect, sir.

The starter solenoid would not kill power to everything. The power does not go through the solenoid to anything other than the starter itself. The power from the fuse block should come off the same stud that the power from the battery connects to.

The fusable links might have toasted.

A bad ground might cause no powah. I would certainly check for ground at the block and at the frame.

I thought grounds as well. One curious thing I found was the burned up coil ballast resistor. That is connected to the starter as well on a seperate stud. One thing to remember is that I'm running a painless harness, the original is no longer in there. From what I understand there aren't any fusable links in the Painless harness.

I should pay a lot more attention to that shiny head of Todd's! He called it that I had a bad ground somewhere that was killing my electrical. It turns out that the only ground I didn't check was from the battery to the frame. I was getting intermittent contact from the connection. (loose bolt) I found that out when I was moving the battery cable to a different location.

I nearly hit myself in the head for being such a dummy! You called it, I owe you a beer! Goose Island 312 or Mild Winter Ale should satisfy my tab to the cruiser god!. Since I found my problem, I picked up where I left off. She runs pretty damn well now! I got the timing on the money , I just have to dial in the Weber so I can drop the ether for start ups. I have a bit of info on that so it shouldn't be a problem!

I forgot a lesson I learned earlier in life. "Pay attention to the teacher" was left by the wayside as I've gotten older. I won't let that happen again!

Thanks Todd!
