Has anybody picked up this sword? Drew's stuff looks great (and I need some). But looks like he's done. And other options?

Thanks
Rob

I have searched for a solution also and have yielded nothing....I wonder why he stopped making the knobs?? I could use a few things he has made and would gladly pay more than he was charging.

Because I bit off more than I could chew.

I started offering more and more types, colors, options, switches, inserts, tap sizes, etc. Every time I did a new type of knob i'd have to reprogram the machine to account for the angles of the face, and come up with a new way to hold the knob for engraving, etc. Eventually none of the jobs were "standard", everything was a custom order. My library of molds grew and started to wear out from use, so I was then spending more time maintaining my molds, etc etc.

It got to the point where I dreaded getting big orders because the effort wasn't worth the money. I took longer and longer to ship orders. I figured if I'd increase the costs then I'd have to deal with people thinking I was overpriced... so I gave it up.

I love a guy that can admit that instead of trying to please the masses and pissing off the world of mud.

And killing himself and his life trying.

Well done Drew. Makes good sense. Your stuff looks top shelf. Wish you well still in. But great business decision. I too would gladly pay more than you were asking. I think Kevin Rowland is in the same boat.

I'd rather have your stuff Jeff, but if your not doing it anymore. :( I did find these, although there not what a really wanted.

I would think the special order stuff would just be a hassle but the reproduction of no longer available and rare knobs like the fog light switch or early dash knobs and oem stock pto knobs would be a great service to the community if it were still possible. I wouldn't have a problem paying 50$+ each for either one if there was no other options and it replicated the original part. A true craftsman deserves to get paid for his work if not it just devalues the service. I'd like to express my appreciation for the items you were willing and able to recreate the quality is second to none.

Agreed with the above post. I am restoring several trucks and could order in reasonable numbers of the OEM style. Maybe consider doing big numbers of them and wholesaling them off to the Sor.com guys in order to hit a number that works for you. Thanks.

If the 2lo knobs were to be available again id be all over one. Just sayin...
