I am afraid roof rack will not fit my gargage door.

I am thinking about getting a roof rack, but my gargare seem to be low. Does anyone have problem with the roof rack on and cant get into the gargage?

That must not be a standard 7' door. Have you measured? I have a 3" lift on my 200 with 33" tires and aftermarket rhino rack heavy duty roof rack bars. I clear the door by a little more than a 1/4".

You can see the feet only in this picture.

the Prinsu is only about 3/4" higher then OEM - but might not work well for a RTT and anyone wanting to store a camping table under it light the frontrunner etc.... that said I love mine.

My bars remove easily and the feet remained attached. The feet are lower than the OEM rack. You could put the bars and a rtt on as required. You could also put Thule bars on your OEM rack as required as well for use with a rtt.

My rack is the same Hight as the shark fin, can not get much lower profile than that.

My Gamiviti is maybe an inch or so higher than the shark fin. I can measure if you are interested in it. Just make sure you go basket down.

My inlaws have and older lower garage. This won't help you, but whenever we visit, it's a huge boon to have AHC. We can just crawl into the garage with our skis and gear on the rack.

You guys and your fancy garages. Wish I had that problem! I'm just thankful to have off-street parking.

Nice driveway. You could fit a lifted 40' RV with safari rack there!

if you plan on getting a lift I'd scratch the roof rack idea - now theres something else to ponder on

Heh the google maps photo is a bit elongated. The driveway is 37' from sidewalk to grass on the side of the house, and 9.5' wide (from exterior wall to neighbors yard). I might be able to squeeze a 40' RV in there with the rear overhang behind the rear axle hovering over the grass, but the street is only ~25' wide, cars parallel park on both sides, and NOBODY leaves any space at the driveway apron (despite the 'No Parking within 8ft of Driveway' sign). Even if I did get it into the driveway I'd never get it out.

Presently we park our 24' trailer in a spot we rent off an alley 3 blocks away, and we use the driveway for us and the occasional guest (if we pull all the way up). Our place in Virginia had a 2 car garage with a workshop on the back... man I miss that.

To the original OP - there are a few roof rack options that should work, but you should definitely measure the height. Even stepping up to slightly bigger tires might be enough to push you over the limit. After my wife mangled one of our kayak mounts (which added ~5") and bent part of the grid of our rack, she won't even use parking garages now unless there's no choice.

Hate to tell you this, welcome to flat spots pushed into your curved roof line. The worst mistake I ever made on my 200 was a Baja Rack. Went Frontrunner after and never looked back. Also tried an Eezi Awn K9 for my G550, still not as good as the FrontRunner. I will say Rhino Rack's new solution for the 200 is pretty awesome looking.

I'm interested in the Rhino Rack as well, someone posted some Ausie build videos recently and that's what they were using. That or the Frontrunner for sure for me. But it's still a bit down the list and I'll just have to be patient.

That Rhino rack is the best looking 200 rack, IMO, but I do love the functionality of the FrontRunner. A ton of accessories and aluminum to boot (no rust). Kind of blocky looking but have learned to love it.

Does the front of the rack contact the roof? Looks awfully close in that photo! Can you get a finger under it?
Nope, clears by a finger. Does not budge when moving lumber.

Not aluminum though, very strong.

I did the measure, my gargage door is 7'. From the top of my rack to the gargage door is 4".
FWIW quick measurement... my Gamiviti is <2" above the shark fin. The feet are adjustable but in my experience there was only one position for the feet height that worked on my 200.
