Here are a few pics of poor rusty. don't be decieved, if I pulled off the bondo, duck tape, and checker plate, the shell of the truck would crumble for sure!
Also note that I only have pictures of the good side, the drivers side has the ducktape rocker, with the step rusted off. Underneath pics are also very scary!

Well good for you, you saved one too! You coulda mader into a pick up too at the time. Did you have to do any frame fixing?
 
Yeah except 60 frame is already long enough, so that doesn't really count, you just have to fix them. I gotta lengthen as well as fix.
60 pickup might be cool though.
 
Make it look like this but with 40 series parts. Will come in handy when you join that commune you were talking about and get yerself 3 blonde wives.

I should have taken pics of that 42 I went to look at. I think there was more expanding foam than steel in that one :eek:

I'm on the "a 45 should have a 45 box" side of things......

If you're interested in what a 60 would look like cut into a pickup, here's a thread on one I thought looked good. https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/262368-check-out-fj60.html Would be a good way to save a cancer truck.
 
Rob Forsyth, guy with a 60 in Calgary chopped it into a pick up years ago. Don't have any pics though. It was blue. :)

I sold that stock box to Wayne after I took it off in favor of the military one. I thought it would be pretty easy to mod but I wound up chopping it both for length and width.

I'm not sure which box is right for a 45. Maybe a REBCO one.
 
Too many projects / ideas, not enough time to build them all!

:crybaby:Yeah. I can sorta see the end of the tunnel, so it inspires me to dream a little more. I can't really start the project until my other project is done though, cause it's occupying my shop right now:o
 
Bringing this thread up from the dead just for the hell of it thanks to a recent thread in the 45 section. What all you say about this idea for the rusty 42? Course it will not be red, and there will be a few things that look a lot better then the stick figure body armour I painted on there!:hillbilly:
