from a friends FB post:

Attention Northern/inland meteorologists:

STOP comparing Isaac with Katrina.

Katrina was a cataclysmic event (worse case scenario).
Every storm is serious and every storm can be deadly.

Stop insinuating that because it's not a Katrina, that it is not going to be bad.
Stay focused on your 'inland' weather business and leave the coastal weather predictions to the local and national hurricane experts.

Here's what the experts are saying:

Cat 1 with 80-85 mph winds

6-14 feet of storm surge

20 plus inches of rain

with always the risk of several twisters

positioned over sea level to well below sea level communities

and a storm that is moving at a snail pace and could maintain those conditions for us for 48 hours or more.

That's what we are prepping for.

Is that something you would like to experience?

Down here, we know what to expect.
Just because it's not Katrina, doesn't mean we just chill.

AHHH....well hang tight....it's coming Saint

Yeah it's Monroe. I knew it was coming, just taking forever to show up. Raining off and on in waves now. Sitting in the garage cleaning the 40 carb watching it roll in.

Heading for higher ground in Hot Springs tomorrow for a golf trip that we will almost certainly spend in the house watching football...
