How to remove center console?

it just snaps in place, you need to pull or pry under the edge of it and lift it up. 4 snaps or pegs, whatever you call them. look a the pic of it upside down. The cupholder is screwed with three screws to the main body of it.

Thanks Jerryb you made my day. Those pics you uploaded were critical to helping me figure out what to do. I popped the front console up and the center console came out perfectly. Thanks so much!

If I remember there are three screws on either side down low on the console, move the seats around to access them. There are two 10m bolts on the very bottom of the console accessed from inside the unit. The rest should be easy, the whole thing will be very loose at that pointView attachment 1368139 View attachment 1368140 View attachment 1368141 View attachment 1368142

Where did you tap into the positive wire too for the USB ports? I'm interested in doing the same mod.

Hey since we're under the center console... Does anyone else have a large amount of heat coming up through there. I can keep coffee warm and spoil milk. I want to put down some dynamat insulation.

I noticed a lot of heat coming through the cup holders too, I put in some insulation under there and it's much better to the touch now. I'd recommend dynamat-ing it.

Have you checked your climate control settings for the rear of the vehicle? If you are calling for heat from the floor, that could do it...

My '99 LX has a power port inside the center console - I spliced into that wire...

Also curious on how to replace the metal hinge. Prior owner somehow managed to snap the metal mounting tabs off.
