Where you purchase your replacements?

I went to Amayama Trading and it is showing that the rear passenger side belt molding is out of production.

any help would be appreciated!

Dealership or partsouq

Thanks for the great write up on this procedure! Just noticed mine were trashed after a rare hail storm near San Diego! Short of buying the parts from overseas, McGeorge Toyota still seems to have the best price on them at about $58 each and offers free shipping if the order total is over $75... I got all four pieces on the way.

There is actually six if you count the ones below the cargo windows.

Cheers

Thanks, I saw that, but those were still in good shape.

No worries.

Usually the coating starts flaking off, that is the second reason I change them.

Cheers

Thanks for this write up, FYI they're still available from dealership. I just received all (6) I am only changing the quarter panel ones so they all match. Also got the inside window seal that sits on top of the door cards. Also still available... Thanks OP 👊👊

Does that mean you have the (4) for the doors available? If so, PM me. Thanks!

Thanks for the write up again OP, I just swapped em all out. All (6) exterior and (2) front door interior. Rear door inside still in good shape and dealership doesn't have them anywhere in the US either..

Here's what a little over 900.00 looks like from the dealership.

Took about 90 min for all of this. Cleaned the grime out and I opted to not use the suggested sealer on the quarter panel moldings since the new ones came with a new gasket and my old ones didn't leak water into the quarter panel...fingers crossed the new ones won't either...

These Toyota part numbers will also work on LX models?

Super helpful write-up on what turned out to be a surprisingly quick and easy job!

I ended up going with partsouq. They had the chrome belt mouldings for $35US each. After shipping I was at $160 all-in. My only reservation was the shipping time coming from UAE. It's thunderstorm season here in North TX, and I have the park my rig outside (too much :poop: in the garage for two vehicles, and the wifey is made of sugar and will melt if she gets rained on, lol...:princess:) There were several holes/gaps in the moulding that would allow rain water directly inside the doors. Site said 2-7 days via FedEx at checkout, so I covered the holes with some painters tape and figured I'd take a chance. Ordered 5/17, arrived 5/25. So 8 days, but close enough. :)

Out with the old and janky, in with the new and swanky!

Of course in the process of replacing the front mouldings I discovered I need two of the inner weatherstrips as well! (part number 68170-60030). So back to our friends in the UAE for another $63.

Very helpful! Even though I broke the dumb "batwing" thing that I was warned about.

Anyone know if there are replacements for the inner window felts? Front driver's is separating and getting worse.

Thanks.
I was under the impression that you had to buy new door cards or repair them yourself. They’re stapled to the door card. I looked at replacing mine and ended up using some door edge protector that just pushed on.

The rubber-felt wiper/weatherstrips located at the top of the door cards IIRC are held on to the card by thin metal tabs that you can bend up to remove the old strip from the top edge of the door card and then to install the new weatherstrip you bend the tabs (ie: part of the new weatherstrip) down, IIRC.
