Forum is being a little squirrely today for folks posting it seems.
2014 with just over 10K on the clock so far. Got it in November of 2014. Just routine maintenance so far.

Gents, for those with 70k+ miles, have you noticed rusting on your frame?
I ask because an 08 I checked out with about that mileage have a disturbing amount of rust on the frame towards the rear of the truck. My 100 has 180k on it and barely an forming, so I thought it a bit odd.

explain the grease on the KDSS valve part please.
I back the screws out no more than 3 turns, use axle grease on the threads and thread them back in. Then I grease the exposed part of the hex head as well. Too many people have had the valves freeze/rust shut on them. I figure cracking them open (not depressurizing- never open more than 3 full turns) 2x a year and lubricating them cant hurt. I have never had a problem opening a valve with the proper 5mm hex key.

Excellent advise, I have done this with all my 100 series. I'm lucky that my 200 has lived its life in Texas but like my 100 I will throughly clean and inspect for any potential rust and make sure that does not occur, just like I have always done with my other LC/LX's. Like you I think keeping rust away is crucial to the trouble free life of our vehicles. I did this even when I lived in the rust belt and the bottom of my LC/LX's looked perfect. As you can tell I'm an admirer of perfect bottoms

As to this question yes and no . I bought both of mine used and My 20K LC came out of Michigan and pretty much the top side and interior looks brand new, but the under belly is a real prominent rust color frame, sway bars, bolt heads, about everything made of steel looks bad, its all surface rust and I was able to clean most of it up with some flat black rustolleum rattle cans. Now my 50K machine came out of southern AR, practically looks new underneath. I know road salt is capable or likely to cause this, just don't think I have ever seen it to this degree, in such a short period. I am thinking about having them both undercoated. Where I live they do use salt solutions on the roads in the winter and I am thinking these LCs are not quite protected from the factory as well as I would like them to be.

What do you use to seal your frame? I'm near Chicago so we get a ton of salt (and thus a ton of corrosion).
Just picked up my 2013 this week with 49k on it. Texas truck, and the underside looks new. I expect Chicago winters will rot it unless I take some preventative measures, but I've seen mixed opinions on various rust prevention options.
User DutchCruiser from the Netherlands with 870,000 miles on his J100. I hope my J200 lasts that long, thogh at my average yearly mileage I'll be 120 before I hit anywhere near that.
