ohhhhhhhhhhhh...lolol :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: the joke flew right over my head. I'm a lil defensive atm as I was just gang raped by a pack of wild MUDers over Discounts and i just assumed you meant I shld be happy to pay that much to ship for a quality service. lololol My bad.

So I just noticed on @TRAIL TAILOR post with pic of new insulator installed. I ordered 19 clips, have 19 in my original insulator.....his has 17. Did they delete 2 holes? new design?
THanks

53341-90A00 uses 17 clips, 53341-90A01 uses 19. It looks like the 53341-90A01 was used predominantly in 12HTs.

I do see conflicting catalog information between 17 and 19 clips.

@cruiserdan I will confirm again in the morning, but I am sure I counted 19 this afternoon. I hope I didn't order the wrong one. I do have an early 84 April build date. Uggghhhhhhh
Thanks for the info.....and I WISH i had a 12HT version!

EDIT: there are in fact 19 on my hood. I also do not have that large coil spring next to the latch. I wonder if 53341-90A01 is available now?

TPD BLOWS simply put

the whole USA Toyota Dealership parts dept. system topic is changing it seams daily from core fees exceeding $80+ for starters and alternators

to TOYOTA motors sales USA simply canceling any order a dealer makes for a line item order for over 20 + pcs of a simple number on back order for a unusual short amount of time window days

if you special order any single part # like hardware or clips make sure the parts counter person makes each line item under 19 pcs to be safe

- JAN 1 saw a absurd USA price tape percentage increase across the board to dealer dead cost , in ways that i fail to understand ?

- its sad really , new dept. staff members and long term career ones alike are given ZERO training and suffer till they make it or simply don't care about there jobs at all

I remember when the term TOYOTA Genuine parts meant something greater and better ….

Anyone have experience with the ROW hood insulator or whether this one will fit my hood? The A01 part number is not available. What is funny is those insulator clips 90467-09014 they say you need 19 of them!

:bang:

EDIT: Never mind....upon closer inspection with a picture of the insulator it looks like it will fit, they just deleted two holes at the back firewall side where the metal slots hold it up. this one will work

My local Toyota dealer seems to want to sell me one. But, shopping on line, my only fulfillment option is shipping...which turns out to be $300. You should drop by your "best" local dealer and give the parts counter guy the part numbers you want. See what he (or she) says. I used to have a pretty good relationship with the guys down at my dealer. I would give them numbers and they would order parts, and after a time, started giving me discounts, too. Most things were not in stock, but they would get them and shipping to the parts counter was free to me.

would be an option if i werent ordering 150 items in Boston...going to Az!

toyotapartsdeal.com sucks. The text in the body of that email is the exact same thing I received in January this year. They are seriously dropping the ball.
They are a borderline on a scam.
