Hood flutters over 55 mph

I think in this circumstance it would work in the reverse, wouldn't it? With the point of contact being in the middle, the hood wouldn't be getting 'flattened', but more 'domed', thus narrowing those fender/hood gaps.

Or maybe it's early for me to be thinking critically.
hood latch (middle) pulls down and the bump stops (corners) push up.
 
Right but if you're leveraging from the middle with the wood (high center) and pushing down on the sides of the hood, it will end up less flat and more domed with the ends sloping further down. Changing the shape in the opposite direction than what was mentioned.
 
Has anyone tried just replacing the rubber hood stops with brand new ones before? I have to think that at least some of these floppy hoods are due to the rubber drying out like any other gasket or seal and shrinking, allowing a gap.
 
So I had this issue as well, and thanks to this thread I saw you could adjust the hood rubber stops and that did the trick! :cheers:
