Good post! Mike
Yep. We were talking about this one in TuT. Very nice set up. I am going to steal all your ideas.

I'd sure like to see pictures of the entire frame just to get an idea of how it fits together. If you need help with posting pictures let me know.

Maybe he didn't have a star back then??

More pics, more pics...

Josh,
Thank a lot! I'll be doing this as well.

What are you hooking the back hooks to? Just the drip rail?

and like everyone else has said...love the cruiser, very nice!

This looks like a great setup so I'm building an almost exact copy but with a few mods. I unfortunately can't get above my garage ceiling to build the winch into the ceiling ao I have to open the drywall. Anybody know where the winch cable attaches to the metal frame? The metal frame sounds like it is in the shape of an H and not a box. Anybody know if this it true?

If you are looking for a vertical storage solution you can check out my build thread here. The dolly I made turned out really nice and my plan is to make a similar hoist setup, but only to raise the top, drive the cruiser out from under it, and then lower the top onto the dolly (which will be a 2 stage process of lowering and then raising up the front to get it vertical. With the dolly I can easily move the top around and because the cruiser is short enough it is no problem to store the top on the dolly behind the cruiser as it is parked in the garage.

I think this could be done using the winch on my cruiser to lift it. Remote cable and pulley on the wall that allows me to lift it off and secure it, Then relax the winch cable and respool it.
Yes/no maybe??
