Nice... would love an engine bay photo!

She's right, mate. I love the playing cards - gotta remember that trick!

What's with the ventilation louvers on the right rear quarter panel?
I have no idea really!
Will take it off one of these days and look

More wheel painting. After some thinking I will keep these split rims and not put bog tyres etc

Found out to paint 4 rims you need 2 decks of cards!

Quick wire brush and then soak with rust converter

Then coat with Black Cold Galvanising paint

Indeed they were just surface rust and mostly baked mud. I had to be careful when buying old cars here as the authority hates any sight of rust.

I use local products which are cheap but same thing are available from global brands like rustoleum or CRC

Rust converter:

Black Zinc cold galvanising paint. I wasn't sure what to spray my chassis with and had been considering raptor or chassis paint. But when I tried the Cold Gal it finished as nice deep satin black and was very tough. I sprayed a bit and left it for a week. Then tried to wire-brush it... couldnt!

For the Diff I will use normal Enamel black to maintain a glossy factory look. I tried it on the shocks and it gives nice thick coverage. But takes a really long time to dry

The dirty job crawling under the car is done finally. And now to the fun part.

But a quick walkaround first ...

I think in terms of design this is peak Toyota
