We could've used the two-bike add-on. There's a 5th bike laying on the roof and a sixth broken down in the back.
 
If I'm driving, I'm delegating putting bikes on top to one of the passengers :D

The racks that let you hang the bike are a non-starter for many full-suspension designs and even some of the 29'er hardtails with severely sloping top-tubes. Just make sure you're getting a rack that suits the types of bikes your friends ride. Regardless, I see some pretty crazy arrangements driving up and down I-70, so with enough bungee cords anything is "possible".
 
Been getting some good use out of my T2 this week. Since I have a full suspension, I had to use the adapter thingy on my old rack, which didnt last long. Not only was I unmotivated to go places, I didnt feel like it was mounted securely. Now I have the T2 and it stays on, ready to go at a moments notice. Plus I can take my friends FSR with us too.
 
For what it's worth. Looks like they're out of stock, but one of the few six-bike racks out there (yes, they sell a 4), but only for mountain bikes.

I also must agree, the Thule T2 is an excellent system that can hold a total of 4 bikes with the extension Thule sells. I like it more than others I have tried due to not having to hang my bike and scratch up the powder coat on my Titus. Plus, like our Cruisers, it's beefy as all get out.
 
Are there any racks that can accomodate a 250cc dirtbike? Sorry if I'm off topic a little, I want to be able to bring my dirtbike without having to pull a trailer

LJ - what's the weight of of your 250cc and what's the size of its tires?

I'm not completely sure, but the '09 model of my bike says that its 250 lbs. I think mine is just under that. Do you have any dirtbike racks that you can suggest?

Sorry to revive an old thread. Any ideas on where the original poster landed with the solution?

I have the same challenge:
- Slee carrier (dual swing out), with 35" tire
- Need to carry 4 bikes

Is there a solution that can allow for BOTH:
A) The spare tire to clear the rack (I think this is the easier requirement)
B) Allow for the swing-outs to open without interference from the bike rack?
 
Ok. In my infinite impatience, I pulled the trigger and got the Thule T2 in the hopes that it would work.

Unfortunately, at least out of the box, this does not fit without interfering with the swing arm. Basically, the rack prevents the spare tire carrier from being opened, and thereby blocks prevents access to the trunk.

I'm going to see if I can get a hitch "extension" mentioned earlier in the thread to see if that would create enough clearance to allow for access to the trunk.
 
My truck is currently at Slee, and was dropped off with a T2 on the back. I talked for awhile with Christo about options on this... basically, I want the bike rack to mount to one of the swingouts so I can just have the whole assmebly swing out with tire. It might be something I have to fab up, but basically, I'd like to have a specific receiver hitch fabbed up on one of the swing outs to slide the T2 into.

The other option is using the fork mount tray and mounting it directly to the ladder swingout. Might only be able to get one bike in this configuration.

If there is enough interest, I would be willing to engineer up something that allows a T2 or modified T2 to mount directly to the swingouts so that when they are closed, the rack is riding each of them. Having at least two bikes is a requirement in my household. With my kids now into riding, i'm probably going to mount their bikes on our trailer, but would like to be able to get-away with just two on the rig itself when we don't need the trailer.

NC to CO ! that's a big drive for some service. I know Slee is good, but *that* good? :)
