Just a heads up. We installed one on our 5.7L about 8 months ago. So far so good with daily silt and dirt duties.

not sure about the pre16 200 but in the US 16+ has an additional permanent filtering element in the top part of the housing...

^^^ That's not really a filter for the engine intake. It's an emissions charcoal filter to prevent hydrocarbons from escaping when you shut the engine off. Not present in other markets.

Gotcha, interestingly it’s white and pretty clean, so I’m assuming the box and filter are doing their job

I’m of the same vein that changing filters often is cheaper than a new motor, but I wish there was a better housing available for us Ca folk.
For now I loaded up on closeout fram and carquest brand filters during the advance auto parts liquidation. I think I got like 10 for $30 bucks. Every desert trip i just toss the old one and put in a new one lol.
