UZJ100 Rear Upper and Lower Links

HFS is now selling Rear Upper and Lower links for the FJ100. These links are available with a fixed length (stock) or adjustable, both Uppers and Lowers. The adjustable links are built ¼” shorter than stock with approx. 1” of adjustability. We will custom build links as well. Links have a Johhny Joint on one and and a urethane bushing on the opposite end. Johnny Joints offer 30 degrees of movement.

The lower links are built to withstand contact with rocks with .250 wall DOM tube. Our policy is to re tube and link we build that you bend, just send it back and we’ll turn it around within a couple days.

Fixed Length (stock) $ 285.00 Johnny Joint/ Urethane Joint 1.5” X .250” DOM tube.

Adjustable $ 360.00 Johnny Joint/ Urethane Joint 1.75” X .250 DOM tube

These arre lowers from an FJ Cruiser, within an inch in length to the FJ100 links. There are no holes drilled in the FJ100 links. We'll even paint them the color of your choice.

Thanks, they're all FJs to me, unless of course it's a BJ

I polished my stock ones off at URE. Next time in in your neck of the woods I'll be giving you a visit.

You are more than welcome to stop by. Keep in mind I do not keep these in stock. They are built to order.

Stan

That will work. No problem on the install.

Just from looking at these, it may be better if the grease zerks are facing down.

Currently, i think they will be facing upwards towards the body, making them harder to reach. I'll know for sure this Saturday when i get them installed. I think i can easily fix it by simply flipping them over though and attaching the ABS line clip to the underside of the bracket.

Thanks, I'll shoot you a PM a few weeks before I head up. Can they be installed there in a few hours?

I installed both of my lower links in less than 10 minutes. This included the time to put loctite on the bolts.

LAyton, your uppers shipped yesterday

Upper links just came in. Pictures of upper and lowers coming after this Saturday, or possibly tomorrow if i have enough time. Thanks Stan!

Can't wait to see them installed

Thanks again Stan.
Both uppers and lowers were a  job. Possibly :banana: if your axle moves a little and your bolt holes don't line up as easily

Tools you'll need:
Ratchet wrench
19mm, 24mm socket
24mm wrench
Socket extension
Couple of ratchet straps.
Jack stands and a floor jack, are almost necessary.
Breaker bar
Loctite

All of the bolts/nuts are pretty easy to access with the exception of 2.
BTW, only turn the NUTS. The bolts have ridges to help hold them in place.

The front nut on the PS lower link cannot be accessed with a socket due to the muffler being in the way. A wrench is needed. Also, the front nut on the PS upper link you need an extension as the exhaust is in the way. Ratchet straps and using the floor jack to raise/lower the axle help to line up the bolt holes if they get off a little bit.

Installed, and a little dirty as it has been nonstop raining. Notice the safely protected and easy to access zerks.

OEM vs HFS

The bracket hole on this one was just slightly too large, or my little clip was broken. So i zip tied it in place to hold it there. PS clipped in fine. These lines are the ABS/speed sensor wires. Don't damage these.

This front nut is the one you need an extension to reach

Sweet!

Thanks for posting up pics Layton. Looks like zerk access is not an issue.
I am thinking you won't bend another lower link any time soon now.

These links are not a must have item if you use your rig as an expo vehicle or only run mild trails.
If you run rocks and trees and you want as much movement the geometry of the rear suspension will alllow they may be for you.

They do require maintenance. I grease mine at every oil change, along with every other zerk on the vehicle. I have taken mine apart once in 36K miles. My FJC has not been a daily driver since about 8K miles. The rest has been to and from trail runs, on the trail. So a lot of trail miles compared to a rig that is a DD as well. No issues with either bushing, cleaned them up, put them together , greased them and put them back in the rig.

I have customers with over 60K miles on them, no ill reports.

Layonnn, are those the oem bolts you used?

Correct. OEM bolts and nuts. I don't see why these would be a one use item as someone mentioned. Nor have i heard or seen of anyone bending or breaking them, so no need to replace IMO.
